It´s all about pruning and training of those lanky roses
Comments (64)I have a question about Gertrude Jekyll. I pruned mine after its last flush to about 2-2.5ft and it looked pretty tidy for about two weeks It's since put out a couple of basals and new growth that has to be 5ft at least at this point. Gertrude Jekyll on 8/2/16 Gertrude Jekyll 8 days later As you can see, my GT is looking kind of gangly - Clearly I didn't prune it hard enough! My question is is it necessary to wait until after the cane blooms to cut it down? This is sitting out in front of a window at my apartment, and is kind of an eye sore to look at, plus, I don't want to draw unwanted attention. If it helps to know, I'm in NC zone 7b. AKA humid and hot!...See MoreIt’s a planting frenzy!
Comments (52)Ingrid, I am so shocked. You do have eagle eyes :) . I did not made that but order it Bec I wanted savory dish and I knew everything will be sweet. It was all gone and it was delicious made by the owner . I thank him for that. My favorite was scones with whip butter made with oranges skin and something. I will be getting the recipe next time. Vap, my friend from Pennsylvania made Pizzelle sprinkle with white sugar powder. It was the best one I ever tasted in my life. The store ones taste nothing like homemade. Mandy moved back to PA about 5 yrs ago. She loves to cook and bake. I called her Mrs. Claus Bec she is so kind, loving, big heart, Rosy cheeks and very, very motherly. Actually, everyone at work including guests thinks she is Mrs. Claus. I was reading on Souvenir Umi and looking at pics. I am not good in this at all but hopefully I learned to be skillful one day. jin...See MoreIt’s Thursday 3/26
Comments (33)gsciencechick, my DD got an email from her school yesterday saying that if students choose, they can take whatever grade they currently have in a course or they can complete the work assigned and have the grades on that work incorporated into their final grade. She had come home prepared to write 3 final papers and probably will, but it was a great relief to her to know she had the option. ETA: I had this wrong. They are giving them the option of taking a pass (GPA neutral) if they choose. Some instructors seem to be giving students different options. My DH is not impressed that they don't seem to have a well-coordinated plan. Like feathers, we are pretty impressed with how her post secondary is responding at a time when many of the students are just focussed on packing up their lives on short notice and getting home to their families. My DH is an administrator at a post-secondary here so I know how much effort everyone is putting in to make this work. Thanks for all you are doing....See Moresomeone tell me if these will look good once it’s all set up
Comments (49)I have dark floors. As someone said, beautiful, but never again. Never. I don’t even have pets and I’m cleaning them constantly. And since your fiancé is arguing that you’re a neat freak and therefore is trying to talk you out of white cabinets, use that argument to get lighter floors. Now, onto white cabinets. Both white and dark cabs will show dirt. And I’m okay with that because then I know I need to wipe them down. But white will hide and dark will show are smudges. That’s a never ending battle here with young kids. Do what you want with that info....See Moresherrygirl zone5 N il
