DWTS starts next week

Are you going to watch the new season? I may watch but have to mute Tyra Banks. JMO but she isn't a great host like Tom was.

I probably won’t watch this time. The only ”stars” I’m at all familiar with, as in, that I’ve even heard of, are Suni Lee and, god help me, Olivia Jade, who I only heard of because of her parents’ scandal.

I'm going to watch after I DVR. I will fast forward through Tyra. Can't stand her and her Grandstanding. Never did. Having her host was the WORST decision ever (like that Richards guy deciding he should host Jeopardy -- his and her "I somehow got to be producer so now I should elevate myself to host " arrogance is disgusting.

Same start date. Cabinets on the way, new sink in the dining room, changed mind on granite yesterday, refuse to commit to a backsplash, and should really start to think about a faucet and knobs/pulls. I was doing okay on packing up until the kids dumped all their end-of-year stuff out today. Good luck!

Joy--The floors in the picture are about 5 years old. The new floors will be lighter at first, but will reach that same color in probably only a few months. We shouldn't have a problem feathering in the new wood and creating a new transition. Ptamom--thanks for the compliment on the cabinets. And I know exactly what you're saying about stuff shattering on tile. That's definitely a drawback. We haven't chosen a backsplash yet, but would gravitate toward lighter if we choose the wood floor. ca_mom--the cabs aren't Brazilian cherry and the floors are at their aged color, so unfortunately that's how they will look together 5 years from now. But, yes, the wood is a bit cheaper and the installation is a lot cheaper than tile. That's a bonus! Chinchette--Thanks for the alternate view. It's such a nice space (love your ceramic gecko!), and it's nice to see how well it works with the wood and tile right next to each other. I was speaking to the associate at the tile store yesterday and she too said to NOT put any type of threshold/transition strip between the two. Now that I see yours, it makes sense!

Kitchen Remodel Starts Next Week - Need Help with Garbage Disposal

I had always been told that the batch feed disposals were a workaround for situations where there was no separate switch- you could get a batch feed unit and not have to break into your wall, backsplash or countertop to install a switch to operate the garbage disposal. I had a batch feeder for about 20 years, they are alright. My new disposal is the one you are thinking of getting rid of. I like it and prefer it over the old batch feeder. What I like best is that I have a single sink and its one drain has the garbage disposal. I have never understood why sinks with multiple drains had only one drain hooked up to the garbage disposal.... It does not seem so difficult to have one that could hook up to both drains but I have not seen one.

I'm in Phoenix which I'd consider large. Last I checked today only 18 affected but as they get better testing I'm sure that number will skyrocket in many places. I was surprised how seriously they're taking it with such a few amount of cases, but I get it. Just bad timing! It could be worse. Maybe we have the chance to slow it down, maybe we loose a lot of money. I'm not sure. I'm an old hippie so I can live on the rough but who wants to cook on a wood grill and raise 3 kids for longer than needed, esp when I do a lot of gardening and do a lot of cooking of healthy foods. I might see if GC can do some of the work and then dive in, like take the upper cabs and soffit out of the kitchen and the 2 walls, repair drywall... before actually taking out the working kitchen. lg222-yes, social distancing for sure. One great thing about Phx this time of year is that all the windows and doors are open all the time. the weather couldn't be better for a full remodel. darbuka, Thx so much for the link! kriii, thx, also!

I may watch initially to see if Olivia Jade gets voted off first. Not because of her dancing, but rather the scandal.

Nah, lost interest in that show awhile back. Sometimes I watch near the end, once the bumblers are gone, but probably not this time.

Maybe, but i too will tune out Tyra. What an arrogant person who thinks she has talent in this regard. I’ll DVR just to see who has potential to win and maybe will watch some when the token joke dancers are weeded out. Olivia Jade? Come on! They must be desperate for contestants.

JoJo Siwa.....ha ha And a Peloton fitness instructor......☺ I see why ya all don't like the cast. It's not a show I watch.....but ..... I DO LIKE Tyra Banks....she is amazing! What she's accomplished is AMAZING! I didn't like her as a host on AGT tho. I thought Nick Canon's shoes were too hard to fill. ♥

I stopped watching when Tyra took over. I can't even stand to see her promos. She looks like a drag queen.
