No beams in your kitchen to visually lower the height? Pendants are not the only solution for kitchen island listing.

how are we possibly supposed to answer you without having a clue what the kitchen looks like??

You think by giving measurements of everything we can automatically picture it? (we can't)

Jane if you have a chance post some photos..we would love to help…the kitchen sounds amazing….two large pendants over island sounds good.

Jane, no problem. we get that. I think people don't understand what we need to see to answer your questions.

Even if you showed us the under construction part, and then just photos of the color of cabinets, the countertop, the tile you're using, the flooring, etc, it will give us a visual aid in helping you choose something.

In the interim, see if any of these help ( you didn't mention if it was vaulted, had any beams, skylight, trusses, etc)

Jane my gosh no worries you should not feel the need to apologize….Beth is to the point but great at what she does…Well I would love to see any photos you can provide and your questions seems to be more about where to hang lighting and what sizes…but of course we love to help with the design style too!🤗

Julie, lol, thanks. sometimes writing doesn't translate well! I meant it to be informative as well, such as "how can we help if we don't know what we're dealing with?" She's new and doesn't know, but so often people describe a room and then ask, "what color should I paint the walls" ? I mean, what the heck?

For all you newbie posters out there, " A picture speaks a thousand words". Don't describe your colors/size/measurements/materials, post a picture!

I am completely retired now but enjoy helping on Houzz…design is in my blood!

The first photo is the front elevation of our home - window on the right is above the sink. Second photo is the 'inspiration' photo - we will have girders as in the photos with the t & g ceiling as well. Floor similar, 7" plank. Colour for cabinet is Benjamin Moore Sea Salt, island will be stained a bit darker than the floor (girders the same) and the counters are quartzite - Sky Gold. Real 'actual' photos coming. Hope this is the info you were looking for. So appreciate your help. Our final kitchen drawings are being completed and will be ready soon! Getting excited!
