Does anyone have a newer kitchen aid dishwasher?

We just had our new kitchenaid dishwasher installed and the top propeller blade hits the third rack on top. It is also preventing the drawer from sliding out. Lowes offered to replace it but id rather figure out why its doing this

LemiShine is NOT rinse aid. It's a concentrated citric acid powder intended for cleaning calcium and hard water deposits from glassware and the dishwasher interior. As weissman says, all liquid rinse aids are pretty much the same, other than one may work better under whatever may be the specific water conditions at any particular location. Too high a dose of any rinse agent can cause excess foaming during the final rinse when it's dispensed. More likely, the film is due to the detergent your SIL is using, and/or too high or too low a dose of said detergent.

I think we have flex hose for the gas, too. It's really bright yellow. I seem to remember it being snaked under a countertop brace before they drywalled. We won't have tv, internet or phone (tv and phone I can live without, but I need at least 1 of 3!) until late October (u-verse has crazy backup for installation!) so I can't easily post pics in the evening, but I can take some and try and get them uploaded if it would help. BTW, I have the KA 36" (KFGS366VSS) and I am LOVING it so far! I grew up with gas, then built our first home with elec. I missed my gas!

Does KitchenAid customer service have a bad rep?

Six years ago I wrote a scathing review of KitchenAid customer service. Since then I purchased a Sub Zero refrigerator and have had the exact opposite experience. Amazing support, you get to talk with a live person, etc. I haven't had any major issues with this new refrigerator but they always send a technician out (free of charge under warranty) and he takes care of the appliance, explains everything to me, etc. This appliance is designed to last 20+ years, KitchenAid, Whirlpool, LG, Samsung and others are good for about 5 years if you're lucky. It's a big investment to purchase a Sub-Zero, but I think in the long run you may find it doesn't cost any more than replacing one of these cheaper brands every 5 years or so.

Your model hs on the panel Pro dry. It does not have Heated Dry and Pro Dry. Unfortunately, with it only having Pro Dry it's not going to have the extended heated dry feature. There are sensors which measure heat, moisture, and other environmental factors which determines how long the dry cycle is, based upon cycle and options. I've even noticed my dry cycle differs in length during different seasons of the year. On my Express cycle, without opting for the extended dry, sometimes the fan does come on and sometimes it doesn't. when I noticed that, I was glad I could opt for a longer dry. My best suggestion to you is to just not use the pro dry option when using express cycle and open door at the end of the cycle. also, although you don't have an expressed no heat dry, this is ho0w it works. The default for Express wash is no heat dry. The default for Normal, Pro Wash, and Light is Pro Dry. With any of those 3 cycles, if you didn't want heated dry, you would press the Pro Dry option and the little light next to Pro Dry would turn off, signifying a no heat dry.

Is the spray arm crooked? It looks like it's not on correctly or is bent.

See if it's on securely. There shouldn't bee to much play (up/down wiggle room).

I have a KitchenAid that’s about a year old, looks like yours. Have you taken the third rack out and tried to unscrew the washer arm? It should have a small knob on it to unscrew it. Could be it was just screwed incorrectly at the factory. I have not had the problem.

As shown in the Upper Wash and Rinse Parts diagram, the spray arm (part #3) is connected to feedtube-3 (part #1). It appears that the spray arm is hanging down from the top of the dishwasher (you can see it's at an angle) thereby blocking the top rail of the rack and preventing you from easily pulling out the rack. That model is on display at my Home Depot (DC) store. If its at your's (or another store), I'd go and take a look at the display model and see how the upper spray arm is positioned after removing the top rack. If it's in the right place, I'd try to see how it's attached to the dishwasher and compare it with yours. (Maybe feedtube-3 is supposed to be attached to the rear of the dishwasher but isn't, allowing the spray arm to hang down.)

Retainer pin (part #2) attaches the spray arm to feedtube-3.

Addendum: I think it's more likely that feedtube-3 is allowing the spray arm to tilt towards the front of the dishwasher than there is a problem with the spray arm itself.

I took this pcture of a 3-rack Kitchenaid dishwasher at Home Depot. The spray arm is tight against the roof of the dishwasher and does not hang down. This photo was taken with the third rack pulled completely forward; it's the second rack you see in the photo.
