These are photos of my last house on base. The green is "Key Lime Pie," a Dutch Boy paint, I think. I love the color and I thought my purple/plum loveseat looked great with it. I may use the same Key Lime Pie in the new house living room; I'll decided for sure once I pick the new furniture. The plum loveseat is now being slipcovered and will live on the "Manly Man's Four Season Porch." He has total creative control out there, so it will probably be slipcovered in camo (which would look great with Baby Turtle!) My base house was not elegant (nor is my new/old house) but I love being able to use more colors and add or delete trim and elements as my whims dictate. I was fortunate the Housing Office allowed me to paint; the house was schduled for demolition so they relaxed the "No Painting" rule. Here's the dining area with Key Lime Pie walls. This photo shows more "blue" than is in the paint color. It's a lovely greyed, sage green. A vase full of wild lilacs with a Key Lime Pie background. The bright morning light and my little point and shoot camera didn't do anything for the colors here, but it's the best photo I have. The plum sofa is deeper, and the walls do not have a blue or yellow cast.

Oh my, thanks for the suggestions Annie! I'm a bit more overwhelmed now though, lol! I will try to post pics of the space to give a better perspective. I really like the berkshire beige but I see how you would think it is kind of dark for all that space. The great room and foyer have 18' ceilings with the main part of the balcony overlooking the great room. We will have oak trim stained special walnut. The floors in the great room, foyer and possibly dining area will be a medium/dark hardwood. The fireplace in the great room will have ledgestone all the way up to the ceiling and we will have cabinets installed on each side of the fireplace in a medium maple color (matches the trim). I hope all this makes sense. Thanks again- I'm going to check out the colors you suggested.

Actually -- a corporate office with a decor scheme of dark blue, crisp white -- and LOTS of silver would be very classy indeed! Add accents of fresh bright green in accessories like fabric on visitor chairs. And -- of -- plants always add a fresh green too! And a large aquarium (if you are able to look after it!) would be nice too! Keep the carpets to the simple industrial gray (look for tiles with flecks of blue) (looks cleaner much longer) -- darker floors show every scrap of dust! Look around the whole space -- take photos! Decide on which walls should be crisp white -- and then choose several walls to paint dark rich navy. (try a satin finish!) Keep the ceiling white to add white and "air" to the whole place. First and foremost -- DO check out your local Craigs List! There are lots of former offices that are selling off their tables etc. Check your area for used office supply dealers too. As for colors for tables -- stick with black or very rich dark chocolate, dark walnut etc. Add silver with chairs, lamps, framed old photos of Art Deco buildings. IF possible -- have at least one of the photos enlarged to a VERY large photo -- and have it mounted (ask at a framing shop!) Or create a large photo collage .... very effective for very little money! For the front window -- add some art-deco-style visitor chairs, small table with art deco lamp (to be left on after dark). Large plant or two (do keep it in good shape or invest in good silk trees) Frame your logo -- and contact information and display it in the window too. Hope this helps! Jan at Rosemary Cottage

This happened to me too! Painted poster boards and moved them around the room to make sure I loved the color before painting the entire living/dining room. I did everything I was supposed to, and after two coats it was BABY BLUE!!! I was so upset. But then I held up the paint chip white dove (OC-17) to our trim, and our trim was YELLOW!!! I'd bet your trim isn't white, but rather a yellow or darker cream. Here's a pic. Same color, revere pewter, different trim. The trim on the right is white dove. The trim on the left is old, yellowed oil based trim of unknown name.
