Great Tomatoes, but too tall...

Adam

Hi all. I've got two 4'x8' raised beds with two 8' high supports and an 8' 2x4 going across it so I can string it up for support. The problem is, the tomatoes did so well, they grew way over 8' and started falling over. My Sweet 100 cherries got 12 feet before they fell over.!

They're in cages and once they grow above them, I use plastic clips to attach them to the heavy nylon masons twine. The weight was too much and the twine started breaking too.

My question is, should I just cut the tops off when they get too tall? Or, is there a better method I'm not seeing?

This is the first year I've used Epsom Salts on my plants and what a difference it made!

Thanks.
