My awesome hubby is willing to try to install wall to wall carpet in our entryway and on the stairs leading up from it to the second floor. The edges of the carpet for the stairs can be "turned and tucked"... My question is, should he use tack strips on those edges and on the "crease" (where the tread meets the riser)??? We are throwing around the idea of just stapling it down, but I think the idea of using tack strips is so that you can stretch the carpet later if you need to. I don't imagine you could re-stretch carpet if it were stapled down. If it were to be stapled, where would be best?
