Need help with my ducting design/placement
Comments (1)Kchan, You are asking good questions. However you are not going to find anyone on this forum who will be able to design the ducts for your new house and gurantee you will be comfortable. You stated your general contractor will do the design work based on some courses he took. Is he a qualified HVAC installer? The installer needs to do a load calculation (Manual J), and a duct design (Manual D). Ask the contractor if he has the software and is qualified to do this. If the answer is no, then I suggest you find a reputable HVAC installer to size the installation properly. This sounds like a beautiful new home, and I would to hate to hear you are unhappy with the heating and cooling....See MoreNeed Color Design Help For Garage and House, Cpartist, PPF, ARG, etc
Comments (32)I would prefer to paint it all one color. But, the trim on the overhang and the columns are bright white vinyl. They won't take paint. I'm stuck with those items being white. The trim areas around the garage doors can be painted the same color. My goal is to make it recede, not be the first thing that you see as you look at the property as a whole and be complimentary to the larger house structure....See MoreGarage door window placement help?
Comments (5)The question is "Which side of the 20x8 garage door would it look best to have the column of windows on....left or right side?" I wasn't sure if it would look weird to have the windows right next to the side entry door because my first instinct was to put them on the right side, which would put them by the door. My husband thought maybe the left side of the garage door would be better. Same question for the smaller 9x8 garage door on the other side of the garage (it will be the same cedar plank style with 4 windows down one side). I did not realize the question wasn't clear. My bad....See MoreFurniture placement and design help needed please.
Comments (16)Pretty space that will only get better with tweaking! I agree with Jan's suggestion. The couch on the wall beside the fireplace doesn't look right--too crowded. I understand the desire for that symmetry with them facing each other, but even if you get rid of the TV, having a couch there just doesn't work. We have a similar layout in our living room--those corner fireplaces make furniture placement difficult! After eight years and trying many different layouts, we have settled on a plan similar to Jan's. RugsUSA.com has some oversized rugs, and here's one I found on Etsy after a quick search; I think the room could benefit from something vintage/antique since your other things look new: https://www.etsy.com/listing/858351833/13-x-16-contemporary-turkish-oushak-rug?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=13+x+16+rug&ref=sr_gallery-1-25&organic_search_click=1&pro=1&frs=1...See MorePPF.
