I am sorry, I do not know. But I think you have marble there, not quartzite. There have been a number of threads on this forum cautioning people who are looking to put in quartzite counters that many slabs sold as quartzite are really marble, and will etch and stain like marble. Real quartzite doesn't do that.

Let it dry out and then reseal until water beads up. It may take many coats. I used Tenax Proseal on a porous granite in a bathroom and it has worked really well. I used Tenax Skudo on granite counters in our kitchen in a previous house and it worked great as well. Counters looked just as good when we moved out after 14 years. No stains. Sealed them with several coats of sealer once and never had issues in the 14 years we lived there.

Don't be '" kind of rough" . It's a brand new kitchen in a brand new house. Want to be "rough" ? get soapstone counter tops.....you couldn't burn if you TRIED.

Joseph, what is a contamination bleed, in this case specifically, that would cause a black line, do you think? There is another thread of someone else’s white quartzite getting more and more clusters of black spots within the stone though the owner says no adhesive was used in those areas.
