This looks interesting but I wish ”they” would come up with a similar alternative to the plastic floor pan. The sky’s the limit with a custom design and could be quite dramatic as seen in the samples. I would wonder about noise. Do they have a store you can visit to see it in person/action?

Thanks for posting this, tartanmeup. I've been exploring possibilities for our shower surround in our seasonal cottage in Manitoba. Because it freezes hard for many months out of the year, lots of options won't work. I'm going to research this more and see if it will work.

I'll be following as we are renovating an age-in-place condo that I want to be as easy to maintain as possible. Also wondering about noise and water spots. I sure don't want a plastic shower pan.

For alternatives to acrylic shower pans, there's Wetstyle, a Montreal company whose product "WETMAR BiO™ is an eco-friendly thermo-insulating composite material" using soy and mineral stone.

Here's a couple of other options I found since:

Fibo:

Fibo 100% waterproof shower wall panels - this company is Norwegian and has been on the European market for over 30 yrs if I understand correctly. Don't know how long their panels have been available on the NA market. From their site:

"The standard wall panel size is 94 x 24 inches and are easily clicked together with our patented Fibo Aqualock. Fibo is a complete system designed for both do-it-yourselfers and professional contractors to install with relative ease when following FIBO’s detailed installation instructions. Wilsonart offers shower panels as well: Wetwall. Not easily available in Canada from what I can see.

ETA: I know there's already a long thread about grout-less shower wall options in the forum. I'll see about finding it to add pertinent info there.

Wow! I got lost looking at all the backsplashes for kitchens. Although my grout lines are tiny and filled with epoxy grout, no grout would be so much better!
