Metal shower walls?
Comments (5)All I can say is that our old house had a tiny (think what you might find on a boat or train sleeper compartment!) master bathroom with just enough room for a TINY metal shower stall (complete with rivets -- real ones). I cannot imagine why ANYONE would put one of those in! The noise alone from the water on the shower walls was annoying as all get out. But it would be an industrial cum marine look (and feel), that's for sure. We tried to replace ours at one point (it was NOT stainless but just sheet metal (steel? probably 50+ years old when we bought the house, and was rusting at the rivet points -- ugh!) and couldn't find anything small enough, pre-fab or otherwise. (Needless to say, we were not looking for another metal one!) I could not wait to leave that "master" bath behind us! Our current master bath is small by the standards of almost every bathroom on this forum... but it seems palatial to us! :)...See Morelisa's master bath remodel
Comments (61)hey bill - i forgot to thank you for your kind words from last week :) thanks i think we figured this out... when i got home & started trying to figure it out with the things in front of me, i remembered that we can also mount the "bench" on top of the tile, which is what john is going to try. he's confident that he can get the tile square, and then he will drill the holes through the tile & kerdi once they are set. i am nervous about him cutting through the tile, since it would be hard to get a broken tile off the kerdi safely, but he says he is confident he can do it and it would be extremely bad luck for a tile to break. i have to trust him and our luck :) here is a quick pic of my tiling job on the tub surround... not perfect, but i'm pretty pleased, and john said he can make it look fine with grout. i left the bullnose off the edges so i can tile once he's done with his drywall perfecting, and i decided at the last minute to put a blue tile on the small wall, after my thinset had been used up, so i just popped one of the white tiles off & that's the hole you see. i'm just so happy to see tile finally - it's all been in boxes & in my head :) he's finally going "Oh! now i see what you meant by scattering the glass tiles around... now i see how the blue paint will highlight those..." I've seen it all along, but in my head! glad it's turning out like it is in my head. lisa...See MoreWindow in shower/bath
Comments (13)Check out this link on the home dec gallery. She has the exact same bathroom window and she explained what they did. In one bathroom, I do the clear shower curtain against the wall on a pressure shower curtain rod. This is the bath that my oldest showers in and it seems to be working to keep the moisture off the frame, while not obscuring the light. In the main bathroom, the younger kids just use the tub, so we don't have the water problems. The previous owner used this bathroom for showers and did nothing to protect the frame, so it's a mess and I'm going to have to get it fixed soon. Even though it's a pain to keep the frame protected, I love having the natural light and being able to open the windows. Our bathrooms are on the back of the house and high up, so privacy isn't an issue. Comments (117)Hi, anyone from Vancouver Canada? I have been trying to find a source for a Corian solid surface shower pan but am having a difficult time finding one. I've called a few bathroom supply stores and went to a few Home Depot and they only have the ugly acrylic ones and only in white, Corian.com does not even mention this type of product so why is that? If it's such a great product why wouldn't they advertise it?...See Moretartanmeup
