Landscaping/ trim ideas to modernize/enhance Spanish home
Comments (20)What an amazing home! Yes, I have seen that last photo's home tour before and loved it! It's what I first thought of when I was reading your vision. I think some black grid windows will look fantastic. I would also eliminate the rod iron Juliet balconies. I don't think removing them is diminishing the Spanish style at all. I wouldn't paint the brick. I think anything with the terra-cotta color is a huge plus. Down the road, a terra-cotta tile walk would look amazing coupled with a white stucco pony wall in place of the brick! I would remove all the shrubbery and focus on adding in succulents, which do well in the bay area naturally. Succulents will add in that soft green color that coordinates so well with the terra-cotta colors as well as add dimension and a sculptured element. I would leave the garage doors as is. Hope this helps!...See MoreAdvice on exterior enhancements?!
Comments (19)I think changing the landscape will make a huge difference. It's all way too groomed. Needs to be more natural, different colors mixed in and some ground covering flowers. Will try to find photo of what I mean. Otherwise front porch is beautiful without more clutter. The existing white pots seem too light, wide and short to me. I would remove all potted plants on the porch and replace them with two tall (2-3 ft tall) black urns with pretty topiaries that comes to a foot or so below the lanterns....See MoreIdeas for exterior enhancements
Comments (8)I like the idea of an arbor over the garage. Replace a garage door panel with one with windows. It would look better. A bright color on the front door will enhance. I think a sunny gloss yellow. No to shutters. your windows are not right for them. I would install a white picket fence near the house to form a front court garden. This is a great yellow door and I like the arbor gate, which you could have in line with your front door....See MoreMidcentury Kitchen, flooring selection to enhance the home -HELP!
Comments (6)What a cool house! I think a marmoleum would look great in your kitchen, maybe in a fun color. Your cabinets look warm toned to me. I would take the marmoleum into the entryway, but hardwood in the entry would be nice, too. Depends on if you want a more conservative look vs some funkiness. Take the hardwood into all other areas of the house, including that room to the right off of the entry hall. You have a lot of options! What style do you want? How do you want the house to feel?...See MoreHU-187528210
