Thank you Debra.Wisest of Wizards surprised me today, as I wasn't expecting a bloom on it for a few more days.I was expecting Happy Face today , as it was starting to open just a little just before dark last night,when I went out to bring in my bird feeder. I have a little more expensive bird seed in my new feeder and I I leave it out, the raccoons tear the roof off it and scatter seeds all over the ground, after the nuts and big sunflower seeds in it,and I refuse to feed raccoons.I had thought it was squirrels after it,and I took it and hid it on the front porch, but the next morning the roof was took off and seeds scattered all over and I knew that was no squirrel doing that.just the nuts in the mix was gone.squirrels like the large sunflower seeds, too.and a squirrel would not have drug that heavy feeder that far either,and get the roof off it.. NANCY;Thank you for looking and commenting, too KAY; yes that sun does get out early and gets very hot too,early.I know when july gets here it will be unbearably hot out.I don't handle heat very well, no more, but, don't like it real cold either. jean

catscottage:Neighbors just might think you are nuts to be out taking pictures of your blooms, but, you know what?I bet you have more fun then your neighbors do,I'm sure mine may think I am nuts, too,but,I don't really care what they think.The only neighbor that matters to me, knows why I take pictures,if she ever sees me.I live in the middle of a block and she lives on the corner,and she don't come outside very often. RITA: I don't care if Double Classic ever has double flowers .I like it just as it is.Love the color of it. BUBBLES GALORE is so pretty,don't see how it could improve,unless it can open up by its self.I helped it just a tiny little bit to open.Its such a beautiful, gorgeous daylily.I just LOVE it.I am kind of thinking that maybe the one about the BIG YELLOW TAXI, might have a edge like this.I might be a little off on the name of it at the minute. I must have went outside 20 times this afternoon to just look at this bloom.It has more buds on it yet. Jean moussy: Hang in there,if you have one scape. more is bound to come,too.

Oops, just checked to make sure the pictures looked ok & realized I didn't actually put in Mardi Gras Parade, the picture for MGP is really New Dawn. Thanks for the complements :) SSS has been a wonderful daylily especially for the 1st year. Started out with a single fan, I had received 2 nice fans but put the other in a different spot where it has grown to 3 fans, but not bloomed this year. This one is now a large double fan, but has bloomed constantly. I almost liked it better with the 1st blooms, it was SO huge & the ruffles looked more like teeth & more evident. Persian Ruby is a beauty & just a good daylily. Orange Velvet didn't do well last year in our drought, I moved it & I think it really likes its new spot. Nice large flower & just perfect shape.

I think FV is looking great. Was that one taken in the PM too? Not too many dl's can stand up to these scorching temps we here in the south are having right now. I know mine are fading really bad. That's one reason I'm out in the garden at daylight each morning. Also, it's the coolest time of day so I have to get whatever garden chores I need to do, done before 10 AM. Too hot any later than that. You stay cool during this heat wave now, and don't overdo it out there. Jan
