where is model number on vintage lighting fixture?

Hello,

new person here. I just need to know where to find the model number on the "vintage" lighting fixture. (It may need a new "ballast" ... basically, a new bulb only goes on dimly, if anyone's interested...)

I managed with difficulty to take some photos, but, I didn't see anything like it when I plugged "c-117, 109" into the intergooglee. So, is that the model number?

We are trying to find someone to fix it - but meanwhile, is this the model number or something else?

Swap it for a new LED fixture. Or if you have to keep the fixture and it has a bad ballast use a retrofit LED bulb of the sort where you have to eliminate the ballast anyway. A new ballast (if you can find the right one) will probably cost you more than either the retrofit bulb or a whole new fixture. Generally it's not worth doing.

Thanks! It sounds like a retrofit LED bulb might be the way to go. Do we need an electrician to get rid of the old ballast, or could a regular handyperson do it? (I am not sure where the ballast is or what it looks like. I looked on HD and it looked like a rectangular thing? Is it inside the rectangular thing on the right?)

Also, was that the model number? Or is it hidden? I am just curious. We are all on board with the LED movement. It's not like the fluorescent was all that flattering!! Ha.

It is a really large fixture, it would leave a big hole in the ceiling. It's about 2' x 6'. A new fixture is probaby a good idea, but there is a list of 50 other things that need to get fixed before this.

Model located near the OHV cover. Its on the housing to the right. Get a flash light and shine this looking in front on the engine view. On my customer mower, there is a scan code for serial #, below that on the metal housing you will see the model type code. 09P702-0005-F1.... since the 9p702 shows, we must add a 0 in front to get the 6 digits for the model. Thanks davidtay, the main question I have is do you use advertised lumens on the package when calculating lumens / sf, or do you multiply it down by a coefficient of utilization factor (e.g. which I've heard to be 0.77 for LR6 and CR6). That one calculation changes the number of lights needed by about 30%. Most calculations I've seen on the Internet do include this factor but I haven't seen it discussed here. I guess the other option would be to just increase the lumens / sq ft target value (which might be what's happening, because I've seen 25-30 lumens / sq ft in other places but have heard 35 lumens / sq ft on this forum). Eliz I missed that sweet compliment...darn. Thank you many months later. I found ebay to be the best option for bargains, but the other two places I shopped were School House Electric and Rejuvination. I purchased a few pieces from School House and they went out of their way to first find the cheapest way to ship them (I'd called NY but they have a NW Location so they processed it out of there) and they rushed the order because well I was in a hurry up and finish mode :) Rejuvination was my main non-antique source for lighting. I purchased several fixtures (repro) and love the quality, but I also purchased a few antique pieces. Here are a few in place... This one is hard to photograph because the room is so small...it's hanging from three chains but you can just see it. It came from ebay out of France: My entry hall light from Rejuvination (repro): The kitchen fixture (I have three, two like this and the third is inverted): You've probably seen my infamous chicken..the only non antique style, but still unique fixture in the house: Master Bedroom: Library: And a few more (ok lots) that aren't in pictures yet. Someday I'm going to have to take pics of each fixture. My bathroom are flush mount 1912 cast iron exposed bulbs...I adore them!

I recently purchased an antique iron chandelier that I saw on an antique store website (I follow their Facebook page). They are in my state but not local, and shipping wasn't that expensive even though it was heavy (about 22lbs w/o box). The antique store was listed in an article Top 10 Antique Store in (my state), so I looked up several of them and started following. I've purchased several vintage lamps on etsy.
