Color Variation between Wall & Floor Size of Same Tile?
Comments (1)It can be a "crap shoot," and varies from company to company and tile to tile. It is not unusual for different size tile, even in the same dye lot to vary a bit. Smaller tile is often just "cut down" larger tile. Examining the back will often show this up. The smaller tile may not have a "complete" border etching...indicating it was cut after firing. This is done often with bullnosed tile. Chances are that these tiles were from different "firings" and may well very. If the differences aren't huge, you might even like the subtle shade variations. Your call......See Morewall tile and floor, same or different?
Comments (10)I'd go with what you like regardless of current trend. All trends can look great or look bad. I think it depends on the arrangements of the selections and the colors. Do you like high contrast than use dark on one plane and light on another. I like a darker floor, but I do have natural oak in my living/dining room areas and love it. But I think the reason is that it offers contrast, which i have discovered I like. In my first bathroom remodel I went with with white tile wainscot, and a dark gray slate floor. There are so many beautiful tiles. I have a friend that just had their house built. She selected all the components. She has a lot of very grayed paints and carpets. She missed though on the carpet and some of the walls. She didn't match the undertones very well. I don't even know if she is aware of this. The colors are wrong, though the amount of dark vs light is correct. There is a cast of pink in her carpet that I could see, that is way off for her wall paint color. If it was a B&W photo it would be fine. But add the very muted colors and its a miss. Anyway I feel like I am blathering on, lol. Good luck on your project....See MoreShould I change shower floor to same color as main floor in small bath
Comments (4)My bathroom is a bit larger but I still wonder if I should have chose all the same but most of the time I love that it matches yet varies too I did the exact as you, small faux marble squares, larger porcelain marble tiles in brick pattern on walls and a grey herringbone on my floor too. My floor is large format though. Here is my bath so you have reference of a similar tile scheme and the next picture is with all the same marble. Maybe it will help you decide...I used a greyer real marble threshold to bridge the two floors.. I love this pictured bath and looking at it makes me second guess my final choices sometimes than other times I like that from my room the floor and even the room do not look like a bathroom necessarily... So hard to choose xo...See MoreAdvice needed for 12' x 7.5' bathroom floor tile and shower wall tile
Comments (25)Home Depot is the only place within two hours that sells the pre-fab, and the colors are horrible. I need three bathroom countertops, and the largest is 52". I should be able to find remnants, but I can't even find fabricators who have remnants. Nobody has a website and the fabricators don't advertise, at all. I found six places in Tulsa, but none of them have quartzite remnants. I can only find stone suppliers. I will make a list of suppliers this weekend, and call them on Monday. Maybe they have a list of fabricators near me. Even Google maps didn't have anyone listed near me. They didn't have the two fabricators that are a half hour away from me. What is your opinion on glossy vs honed in a bathroom. My kitchen has leathered Sea Pearl quartzite, and I love it. I prefer matte colors usually, but I doubt I would like leathered bathroom countertops....See Morechispa
