I love my Bosch. I have had a Jenn Air and loved that too. The worst experience I had was a GE cooktop. Maybe it was just a fluke or lemon because others on GW find GE to be fine. I do not know much about Electrolux but seeing it in person I found it to be well made. Great knobs and shelves. I posted a link so you can read up on other reviews of the GE. You can also find Electrolux and Bosch on there but GE is a bit more popular. Or perhaps more types are available for review. One negative thing I have heard from others about Bosch is a loud fan for the convection ovens. I have not noticed it. I’ve looked at so many floors I’m burned out. I should’ve done a spreadsheet like the author of this post. I originally wanted Flooret’s Modin line but I’m just not liking the 9” planks.. right now Provenza Moda is my front runner because of the 7” wide plank texture and long boards (I do NOT want 48” planks). Does anyone know of a brand that I should be considering?? I want SPC, do NOT want a pronounced pained bevel (but do like a thin bevel). Prefer some texture, want low color variation in light-medium brown. (Did not care for SuperCore or Paradigm samples)

The fabricator makes the difference in the results when comparing name brand. The mix and the machine make the difference between the name brands and the knockoffs.

I have 27 years of industry experience, including managing a showroom and stone fabrication shop. I also moderate many industry groups, who deal with issues from multiple industry aspects. The common denominator issue that will defeat fabricator skill every time is poor quality materials. As I said, that can happen from multiple respected sources, to the cheapest of sources. But, it more often happens with the no name cheap sources. When it does, there is no assistance or recourse for the fabricator other than for them to eat it. This is why those with good reputations, who deal with this hands on every day, with their names on it, tend to not choose the no name brands. There are plenty of reputable brands made from Georgia to the Carolinas to Canada. Lower transport costs and more accountability are big factors in choosing manufacturer partners.
