Comments (15)Rita - Edge of Your Seat is the one by Yost that I thought you should grow. I'll post more photos of it as it reblooms. Sharon - I sure hope those kittens can be tamed too. They see that their mother isn't afraid of me, so I think they'll come around soon. Two of them will tolerate being petted while they are eating. Comments (8)Well I know the FDA banned it's sale for food purposes back in the 1970s. Most say it was probably a result of pressure from the sugar industry and perhaps from people who make aspartine which was coming out around the same time. The reasons are unclear since the berry has been consumed for centuries with no ill effects. The FDA has a rule that says anything that had been regularly consumed before 1954 without health problems could have grandfather approval but apparently not this berry. Same thing with the herb stevia which is many times sweeter than sugar without the caloric penalties. Comments (9)Thanks, debra. It was really a question about strange happenings, in that it is putting out blooms and new flushes in October. Yes, the successive flushes are always prettier than the initial ones. Given this is many flushes past the first, and the leaves on this flush are really nice, I find it strange that it is doing this so late. The other So Sweet is behaving normally as are all the other hosta. I miss the old "guys" who had so much knowledge and shared it generously. bk...See MoreFMN SWEET THINGS PART II
