Comments (9)Thank you everybody! Speaking of scapes. Some are so tall this year, for instance on S.Doodlebug. I also found a.. rebloom scape, wow! So excited. The normal ones aren't even ready to bloom, and there it was, little rebloom scape :) That's on 70x7. Also found another broken (blasted) scape. Two on Linda's Magic. They are very very thick. And found a fused scape or whatever it would be called, looks like two stuck to each other, weird. Kay, thank you. It was very sad :( Here they are: Blood sweat and tears*, Cast Your Net, Cherry burst, Chicago apache, Daringly different, Filled to overflowing*, Gwin Leman, Handwriting on the wall, Healing touch, Iowa girl, Kitty Wells, Linda Beck, Man of sorrows*, Rachelle Agin, Russian Temple, Song writer, Sp cranberry kid, Vanilla Lace, Xia Xiang. #20 would be No more tears, but I had another one, 2 yo, which died too, but remarkably came back, and looks ok now, but won't flower. The ones with * are re-ordered :) And I will definitely someday reorder Ru Temple, because it was the reason for one of the last year's orders. Thankfully the price came down even more....See MoreMine on the 4th
Comments (12)Thanks you all very much! I like pink NOID for being early, lots of buds and looks like rebloom, but.. it fades quickly and then melts in the sun :( Celeste, I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures! I'm not sure how similar the weather in our zones is, and I also think that 4b is a wishful thinking on my part ;) I think it's colder. George didn't bloom last year rarely anything does in the first year (except for Maryotts), and Doodlebug rebloomed for me last year....See MoreOne FFO, One FFE and Rebloomers
Comments (12)Maryl, glad you like these, feel fortunate to have so many good ones this very unusual year--wish we could always have them like this. Sherry, ELE is so cute--I love triangular eye zones and green throats. Debra, the color of Tender Love almost mirrors that of Small World Snow Owl, so I have the "big one" and the "small one"-lucky, lucky. Glad to hear WDS has produced a rebloom scape for you. I bought Dragonfly Dawn to use for crosses and so far I have seeds with Katherine Caldwell as pod parent and Moon Over Monterey as pod parent. Let's hope for daylilies with great patterns. Mantis, Lillian's Thin Ice in its second year is coming on strong, it's great to get a daylily that produces right out of the gate. Dragonfly Dawn scapes are probably around 30" here, not the listed 36""--I can hope it gets taller the longer it grows here. Katherine Caldwell is another one that got right to it last year when we planted it, and in the second year has really done wonderfully well. It is a semi-evergreen and a strong grower, so maybe it would work for you. Nat, good choice for favorites, they are lovely daylilies and good growers, and that is important. Not all lovely DLS are good growers....See MoreVery much slower, but an FFE and an FFO
Comments (14)Thank you, Sherry and Maryl, for looking and commenting on my post. That was the prettiest bloom FH has had, Sherry, but this is a first-year plant. I hate to see them bloom out, but it has been a great year. Maryl, Spoken in Parables has always been a tremendous bloomer in my garden and it is a rebloomer every year. I like to have a lot of colors and do a bit of changing either of plants or positions to get what I have in mind. I have been very pleasantly surprised in how well Rosemarie Louise is doing this first year, And like you, I seem to be drawn to Jellyroll Morton and can never pass the blooms without taking a photo. kay...See Moresherrygirl zone5 N il
