Zero gravity chairs

Not a fan of the hammock stands but I have one hooked up to trees and it's much more relaxing than a chair of any kind imho. The stand type hammocks just seem like an accident waiting to happen, but that's just me.

Kathyg, had to google zero gravity chairs. I've never heard of them.

Lounge chair. GF swears by zero gravity. Hammocks are less portable and only one shape whereas a lounger you can change positions. I often read in mine with the back up, then lay it flat to nap.

I absolutely adore my hammock, which is a cotton sling on a stand (without a horizontal bar - I'm sure there's a name for those). But it's very different from a lounge chair, because it's hard to eat, drink, or talk to someone while you're in it. Mine is actually considered a "double hammock", because I'm pretty hefty, and I feel very secure.

The vision of me getting in and out of a hammock has me firmly in a lounger!!

I dislike hammocks. They look cool, but the mesh holes are uncomfortable. I have cast aluminum lounge chairs & leave them outside ALL seasons. I also have a swing, which is my preference. The Sunbrella cushions are brought in for Winter.

I also dislike hammocks, and I tried to sleep in one when I was in Tikal, Guatemala - that did not work. They force my back into an uncomfortable (to me) position. I did buy some henequen hammocks when I was in Mérida (the market there is know for them), and while I thought they were pretty, I gave them away.

Anyone with a zero gravity chair know of a good brand? Looking around and they all seem to have issues with rusting and falling apart, even the more expensive ones.

Air chair. It's a hanging chair. I don't know brands, but there is a seller at Bristol ren fair that has them. Super comfy.

No hammocks, no recliners, no retracting foot rests for us, not indoors or outdoors. We both find them very uncomfortable.

We had a couple of zero gravity chairs we bought for Florida. They were wonderful. They has the awning that flipped over to give you shade. BUT they were heavy and we gave up on taking them to the beach.

I have the same set up as Toronto Veterinarian. I am not a large person and I can fit in it lying lengthwise, plopped into it sideways or curled into a ball. It is my go to relax and often, my fall asleep spot. Super relaxing and most comfortable. For reading and sitting a bit upright while sipping a cool drink I prefer my gravity chair. For sunning and trying to even out (in my dreams) my equestrian/farmers tan I like an adjustable armless lounge sold as an oversized camp cot.

I’m with you Toronto and Wildchild. We love ours too. It’s in Florida in an enclosed lanai.

It reminds us of our vacations in Costa Rica.

That said, a hammock is a different animal than a lounge chair. if I only had space for one, I would get the chair.

For me, a hammock is an extra fun thing to enjoy. It doesn’t make sense for my house here unfortunately. I would not want it out in the open to get rained on..

I have a zero gravity chair. i got it at home depot about seven years ago. it folds for storge,and in the winter i just fold and put under the eves. or put a garbage bag over it. no rust in the time i have had it. i dont recline in it , but you can can.

My little dog prefers a hammock.
