Looking for recommendations on counter stools

We updated our kitchen with a lot of gold/brass finish and white counter tops. Trying to decide on counter height stools, likely 4 of them.

Primarily going for a modern contemporary look, but willing to throw in some retro (velvet maybe?).

Main idea coming to mind and looking for any input: Brass frame stools with blue or green velvet seats. Debating need for seat backs or just going with backless to let the kitchen shine. Open to other ideas, colors, etc. Please post links where possible! Yah is !

I have the Cuisinnart with the convection feature. It is well worth the money (~$100). I use it for most baking (baked potatoes, toast, roasted veggies) for the two of us, and only fire up the big oven if we have guests. You will have to clean it if you tend to spatter grease all over the inside - if I'm going to do that sort of baking/roasting I use the self-cleaning oven. I do line the bottom crumb tray with aluminum foil to make de-crumbing easier.

My built in is Amana in this new-to-me house - I haven't had an Amana microwave since my very first, purchased in the '70s when I worked at a hardware and appliance store and they were well over $500 :), and that may have been after employee's discount. The last countertop I bought and left in the house I will sell was Kenmore from Sears, on sale about 5 years ago for approximately $70. It would hold a 9x12 pan, had a turn table, more functions than I needed and still working great.

John Boos is well known for quality tops. Look at a local restaurant supply house for ordering. Michigan Maple is another well regarded manufacturer. You can look on their website for a local distributor. Craft Art is a manufacturer/retailer, and also known for their high quality and the number of different woods in which they can create countertops. Zebrawood end grain. The trash can is temporary. Waiting for the pullout trash can bins to deliver.

Rest of space is a loft style condo with concrete and steel features. Posted more below from first level mainly.

Really exciting space.

I don’t think you need any more square things.

I wouldn’t get something so curvy it competed with the kitchen and other showstopper items that deserved the focus, but I would look for some curve and/or texture, even if it is in the same tone as the knee-hole of the island.

If I can find a photo of what I think would be my choice I’ll add it.

Cool space!!! I was going to suggest the Crate and Barrel stools, but you already have them for your dining chairs...comfy, right? I have them around my island and love them. You have some many points of interest, I would something backless and dark to blend in with your island when pushed in.

So, after reconsidering, my feeling ended up being to go with stools that are really inviting to sit in because you are going to need something really magnetizing to get people to want to turn their backs to the window and get them to embrace the action in the kitchen. I think the stools should to be keyed to the warmth and attraction of the overhead pendants. Even at the risk of competition with other dramas in the space.

Not all of these upholstery choices would be mine, and several come in blue or green. although I’m not sure either color is a good idea. I think maybe it is best to get swivels, so that people can converse with people sitting at the table …. but some first blush choices

IMO a splash of color would be awesome I would not probably choose velvet for stools since it rubs badly and never looks right if a spill happens and is cleaned. What is the reason for the stools under the painting they are pretty lost and IMO do not work at all with the new kitchen but then neither does the LR dark stuff work. I think you need to do a bit of work on the LR first and then worry about stools for the kitchen

The stools and high top table were from previous condo. The old stools worked pre kitchen upgrade, but will be sold as we continue to furnish. Trying to keep the focus right now on the kitchen and stools for the counter.
