Well, I woke up, rolled over to look at the clock, and realized the alarm hadn’t woken me at 7 as I had intended, and it was now 8:14. I had to be in my spot at church at 8:30, handbells in place, music open, for last-minute practice. I got there at 8:32, but no one had thought to lay out bells for latecomers (I think I’m the only one who does that for the others). As I fetched my bells, though, one kind soul set up my music for me, she’s always so sweet. At least the playing went pretty well. Came home to find a cat had pooped on the rug. And as I type I hear one hacking up a hair ball or something in the other room.

But, I’m now having my coffee and checking out GardenWeb, so all is right with the world.

And the day can only get better from here!

Envying you a lazy Sunday. Today's my day I go in to work, but it's not too bad as I get the place to myself...

bpath, how on earth did you get there so fast? You must live awfully close to your church. It takes me that long just to get out of bed. LOL

I've been pretty busy today so far. I slept in a little later than I thought I would. I'm leaving on Wednesday to fly to Florida to spend a week with my sister and to bring my niece (7) and my nephew (15) back with me for a month. I got my niece's room all ready other than vacuuming. My nephew is going to stay in my dd's old room, so that is taking a bit longer. She had a ton of empty shoe boxes that I broke down and put in recycling, I need to wash the sheets and comforter and vacuum. I told my dd that she needs to go thru her room and get rid of some stuff. She is still at school and has a internship this summer. She is coming home on Wednesday for a dentist appt and said she will go thru it all. Then this evening my son, his gf and my other dd are coming over for supper. I still need to decide what I am cooking and go to the store.

Lazy day here. Went to Arby's for lunch and watching a baseball game. Cloudy with rain off and on with the next week looking the same. I can't imagine getting dressed and to the church in that amount of time!!!

We got up fairly early and had our coffee outside. Then we went for a hike. Took a different path that turned out to be more strenuous than the usual one, which is good I guess. This afternoon, after the usual chores, I have to do the online shopping order for tomorrow's pickup, then I'll read a bit, and tonight we'll start watching the new Brokenwood Mysteries season on Acorn. Lazy day.

I didn't sleep well last night and when I got into a deep sleep in the morning, I didn't want to get out of bed! It was 8:30 by the time I dragged myself out of bed. After breakfast, I sat down to plan our meals for the week and prepare a grocery list. I find that I can keep my eating on track a little more easily if my meals are planned and there are no last minute decisions to be made. I'm going to have planned desserts, vs. those that are spontaneous and calorific. DH has already mowed the lawn, so I feel very lazy sitting here on the KT. However, I'm going on my 10,000 steps right away. I'm listening to a very good audiobook right now about a young woman who developed leukemia and had to have a bone marrow transplant from her brother. She is waiting now to see now if it "took."

Debby, have you ever seen Four Weddings and a Funeral? It was like that! When I looked at the clock I FLEW out of bed, brushed teeth and hair and didn’t confuse the two brushes, splashed cold water on my face, leapt into some clothes — thank goodness we wear robes at church —, one minute to microwave coffee, pour it in a travel mug, and make half a cheese sandwich in the meantime, and FLEW the old minivan out of the driveway. I’m normally about 12 minutes from the church, but since it was early on a Sunday morning I caught both green lights and no traffic. Had my coffee and sandwich between practice and the service before I got in my robe.

Nothing like that “8:14“ shock to get the blood flowing, I tell ya.

Stacy, that sleepless night is what happened to me. I often wake up in the night, last night I was awake from 1:30 till 4:30, so then of course I slept so soundly. I either slept through the alarm or I had set it wrong.

Was up at 6 and had a rhubarb pie in the oven shortly after 6:30. I have rhubarb left over to make muffins or a cake, and still have some to freeze.

All of the laundry was finished by 11 a.m. this morning. House plants have been watered and bed linens have been changed. Now, I'm enjoying watching the YouTube vloggers I follow who post on Sundays and reading posts here.

Jasdip, thanks for the reminder: my rhubarb is ready to be cut down. I used to make THE best rhubarb pie but now that the kids are all moved out, a pie is too much for the two of us. I just cook it down with sugar and my husband eats it on toast.

Oh, Debby those peanut butter cookies have me salivating! That has always been my favorite cookie to bake.

I woke at the usual 5:30. I tried to go back to sleep, but as usual that didn't happen so I got up about 6:30 and put a load of 5 of my short sleeved shirts in the washer. Needed a clean one for today and since I haven't released all the rest of my warm weather clothes from the winter storage tote the 5 that I have been wearing these unusually warm days needed a wash.

Then I striped my bed to get it ready for warm/hot nights. Had to have DH's help with that, so I rewarded him with an omelet and a bowl of fresh strawberries, blueberries, cantaloupe, and banana slices. Cleaned up the kitchen and made myself a cup of coffee and checked out the 'Kitchen Table' site to see what was new till 9:00 when my favorite Sunday Morning tv show came on. When it was over at 10:30 I had a shower

Got a call around noon from our daughter inviting us over to her house for supper around 5 today....that being just rhubarb pie a la mode. So dh and I had a light lunch, leftover salad from last night and more fruit. Cleaned that up and then I went outside to tour the yard as I usually do 3 or 4 times a day, just to see what is new since my last time out. I finally sighted the forming buds on the Tulip tree. And some of the Siberian Iris opened overnight. Voles have been wreaking havoc in a couple of the flower beds and the resident chipmunks seem to be helping them. I did see at least a dozen little 2 inch high clumps of sunflowers coming up in odd places that some little rodent planted. I think I will try to move those seedlets to more appropriate places tomorrow. The birds will enjoy the fruits of my labor.

Now I will go get one of those freshly washed shirts on and get ready to eat that rhubarb pie while enjoying the 2 granddogs and daughters beautiful well cared for yard. It may rain they say, but I will still enjoy the time we will all be together. It has been nearly a year and a half since we were there.

I did something similar. I culled my long sleeved tees because I bought all new ones (13 of them, from Port & Company, various colors like before), and put them all in the washer. Tossed the old ones with necks that don't wash clean anymore into one pile, the others in a bag for Goodwill. Then the ruined neck ones I cut up into rags. Drove to Goodwill with the others.

Freshly laundered tees are hanging in the pantry to finish drying after being in the dryer for a bit. They will go into the bedroom armiore until Fall. The short sleeved tees are now hanging in the armiore where I dress. So my warm season has begun!

Jasdip and Debby, lol I guess I was composing my post when you both mentioned rhubarb pie! Tis the season! Always a favorite!

Woke up with specific work goals. Ordered a subscription of "FocusMe" that restricts certain internet sites that prevent me from working. For instance, no more youtube, msn zone (games), reddit, etc. Maybe I should have restricted Houzz.

We went for a 3 hour hike today and am just finishing lunch. It's only 1:00 here so still have the afternoon.

It's Sunday morning, for heaven's sake!! You guys are far too ambitious for a day of rest or otherwise just fibbing!!

I did sleep in a bit this am....it was 6 instead of 5. Sleeping in until 7 or 8 would feel like I was wasting the whole day, although I have no reason to justify that feeling. I get no more done getting up at dawn than I would if I got up later :-) The only thing I can manage first thing in the morning is to make my coffee. Then it requires drinking it and contemplating life for a hour or two before I can think about doing anything else.

What else I might accomplish today is up for grabs. It is gray and chilly outside with on and off sprinkles so no major gardening planned. Have a load finishing in the dryer that might get folded. Made hard boiled eggs to go in the shrimp salad I plan for dinner and considering making a batch of cookies. I've been considering making them most of the week and haven't gotten to it yet, so not holding my breath ;-)

Other than checking in to GW periodically during the day, the dog and I will likely loaf away the rest of it on the couch streaming an Irish police procedural on Amazon.

We are the epitome of Sunday laziness!!

6:30am, Dh ripped the sheets off the bed, Did a load of sheets & bath towels, then I put the sheets back on the bed. Drank a mug of Inka. Gassed up the car @ Murphys. Drove 30 minutes to the park, where we jogged 4.25 miles while we got a little spattering of rain. Came home, took showers. I made beefy nachos for lunch. Then laid out on the covered deck. Took an hour long nap. Dug up a dead Emerald Green Juniper. Found the receipt from last year. Returned it to Lowes. Went to Home Depot & purchased evergreen fertilizer spikes. Got chocolate toffee cement mixers @ Culvers. Back home, filled the hummingbird feeder. Watching the next half of the movie "Uncut Gems" w/ Adam Sandler. We disliked it so much, just couldn't watch it in one sitting. Yet, it has 7 out of 10 stars....we wanted to give it a try.
