Anyway, what a beautiful day for you, Kirk & your family...looks like such fun ... & such beautiful artistic quilts ...I knew Carol would be getting a great idea! Because her quilts are stupendous!!! (that means, really, really gorgeous!) My Mom was a quilter...so I appreciate all the time & talent it takes. TFS your day! Can we join Marlene & her DH? Got room for a camper? LOL! Comments (4)Just came back from the Coast, where it was foggy and overcast and felt downright good after the 100º+ temps we have been having. The Rhododendrons are breath-taking, the many colors and varieties creating fantastic vistas from every path. Joann took a lot of pictures, we hope to be able to have enough good ones to post. The food-bank got a lot of food, a very nice selection. For our lunch purchased items at the Harvest Market, they have a truly large selection of food to take out, from salad to deli items to hot dishes, so we had a gourmet picnic. I brought some sushi and some excellent cheese home for tomorrow. We ran into a friend not seen for a long time, since she moved to the coast and we met up with a woman from our town who walked a little terrier, turned out to be a cousin of Taschis. A very nice day indeed. Came home to 90º, turned the cooler on, stripped the warm clothing off, put cool clothing on, fed dogs, cats, chickens and goats, watered what needed water and now I can coast....See Moresomething fun and free to do in PA on Sunday March 9
Comments (3)Dedtired, keep in mind only the state run musuems are guaranteed to be free. I am sure others will be participating (like the 3 I mentioned), but you should check before you go. Satine, if I had to choose one it would be the Ephrata Cloister. The history is fascinating and buildings date back to early 1700's. I do like Landis Valley quite a bit (Oprah Winfrey's Beloved movie was filmed at this museum). It is larger than the Cloister and more to see - more walking too. And the Strasburg Railroad is nice but never held an appeal for me. Starsburg Railroad and Landis Valley do attract a lot of children. The Cloister can be much more difficult for young ones to be still and understand the concept of what went on there. But I love it all seasons. Have fun!...See MoreA foodie fun and artistic day!
Comments (17)Well, Mom just called to say she has heard horrendous things about parking at the Tanger Outlets and she doesn't think we should go. I'm in perfect agreement after seeing the lots jam-packed full on my drive home yesterday. Cathy, I really had planned to go to Southern Season for two items I wanted to get, then forgot about going until I was almost at the Deli. Sally, yes, I was organized enough to take the cooler with some ice packs. Fixed the chicken maple link sausage for breakfast today - quite good and no fat to speak off. Lpink, I put all the grains in my freezer until I'm ready to use them. I want to try a granola recipe that I might make for the farmers' market. I don't like to sell anything that I haven't tasted. The chipped beef that I bought at the RTM when we were there was put on ice in my tote bag and survived the long train ride just fine. I love that stuff! Teresa...See MoreUser
