So much in fact that I stopped using them. I used to have several temporaries that I built using Homeline's and I've installed them on a few jobs. I ALWAYS would have issues with motor loads on them (compressors, saws, etc...) I've had Square D reps swear to me up and down that Homelines are exactly the same internally as QO's minus the little red flag and the indicator window, but I've never had issues with QO's like I have with Homeline's. I'm sure for most people Homeline's are fine and work perfectly, for me though I couldn't afford all the call backs I was getting with motor loads on them. Please note I'm not trashing them or bad mouthing them at all, I've just had very similar issues with them on motor loads and couldn't afford all the calls backs I was getting.

Totally apart from the technical issues, where is your landlord on this, given that it's not your property, and you are, I presume, not a licensed electrician? Building codes generally demand that licensed electricians do the work on any multi-family dwelling. And then there is the issue of the insurance ramifications if the building burns down....

yes you need a home run to your panel. I hang out in the laundry room forum here and this has been talked about in the past AEG and I think Meile washer/dryer sets work like this. Euro washers and dryers draw less amperage than north american models so thats the reason they both can draw from one 30 amp 240 volt circuit here. you could put in a 20 amp double pole breaker and wire it to an outlet just for the washer. check with the applaince dealer to be sure what its power requirements are first and the type of recptial you need for it before you start. Also if the its going to look the same as the dryer's be sure to lable it clearly so that later if you move out or something no one plugs a 30 amp north american style dryer in to there.
