There is a Travertino Porcilian tile that looks like the natural stone that my be more suited for that use but HD uses the same SKU 858-571 for all Travitino tile and there are a numerous amount of shades. If you go this way make sure that you verify that you have enough of the same shade to complete your project. In general; Their tile folk don't seem to know a lot about the subject.

soundsgood, I went looking for a picture that would show the color of the tile and I just don't have one. Even the pictures I posted in here do not show the color because of the suns reflection. When the guys are done tomorrow and I finish getting all the mud off of the deck from their work I'll take a picture. The colors I went with were noche 75% and orange 25% in a borderless french pattern. The coping is the Noche but the tiles are very distressed to make the pool look much older and worn in. My look is an informal island/resort style with some tuscany thrown in, which was what I was shooting for. Its a very different look from gk's. My wife is always riding me to take before and after pictures and I always seem to forget. Now if you asked me for a picture of one of my +300 palms, I could provide you one for every year they have been in my yard. Priorities I guess ;-).

You can purchase fill compound; it comes as a powder and you mix it with water to a thick paste and use something like a tongue depresser to even it. Also, there is a product (Crystal something, I think) you can use to clean your travertine that dries more quickly than water, so the fill doesn't get very saturated. Finally, there are sealants you can use that do not change the color, but retard the process that leads to losing fill. When you clean your floors, don't saturate the floor. Use damp rather wet mops or rags; then dry the floor. I think Stone Care International or Stone Tech makes these products, but there are probably many manufacturers who can mail this to you.

KFou,,,I've had travertine for over a decade. just use the penetrating (penetrating does just what it says. you get peeling when you use a topical sealer) sealer in a matte finish. yes, it comes in glossy, you don't need that. That have enhancing and non enhancing. I used the latter as it deepens and enriches the coloring. ( Wet the tile with water and that's what an enhancing sealer will look like.) follow the directions so you don't end up w/streaks. you let it sit for a few minutes, and buff off any residue. work in small areas. you will have to reseal every few years, depending on traffic. You'll know when it's time when water absorbs into the stone. and just know, it's common for the honed/filled to lose small chunks. you'll get holes here and there. these are the two I've used and have been happy with, over the years (as you can see, if you want the enhance, it will tell you on the bottle)
