what color for my front door?
Comments (4)Either black or Carriage green would look great! I would also paint the garage door the same black or green. It will make the garage door recede instead of making it the dominant element on the front of the house. Normally I recommend painting the garage door the same as the siding to minimize its impact but on a predominantly brick facade it looks best to paint the door black or dark green. I would remove the storm door in warmer seasons and have it painted the same dark color. Personally storm doors are off putting to me and not inviting but then I live in Northern California where we rarely use them. Eventually you might consider adding an arbor over the garage door with the columns the same style as on the porch and continuing the line of the porch. A climbing vine would add greenery to that side of the building and help balance the plantings on the other side of the garden. Another option would be to plant a tree just to the left of the driveway that would eventually overhang the driveway and garage but I can't tell from the posted image how close you are to your property line with your neighbors....See MoreWhat color to paint my front door-All suggestions welcome!

I was hoping to do something to get away from that. Now I am concerned about doing something darker. Oh dear!! I think I got my husband on board with a purple/wine/eggplant but now have concerns that many of you think it is not light enough. Back to the drawing board??...See MoreWhat color should my front door Be?

Comments (2)I would use a brown color that is the same as the brown on the lower portion of your home. Need to see a photo of the front door to decide on door color. Best wishes!...See Morelittlebug zone 5 Missouri
