Recent experience with Viking rangetop/range?
Comments (1)No one wants to bash Viking, even those of us who have been though endless rounds of service calls and replacements. Your desires are what they are. So it's up to you to judge whether you will be lucky enough to beat the average experience. I started with a Viking kitchen and it all will eventually be replaced, possibly save the vent hood. Last week I called the local rep and left a message -- I had a minor question about my fridge. No response. In the past few years they have been more responsive than earlier. Unfortunately with these purchases many things which seem important before are not afterwards when a whole different set priorities sets in. Shouldn't be that way but it has been IME. Every brand has complaints and yet some have fewer than others....See MoreRefrigerator sticks out too much?
Comments (6)my $0.02 - it's one thing to have a fridge that sticks out, it's another thing to BUY a new fridge, knowing it sticks out and knowing it's bothered you for "years". Pictures and dimensions would help, but I really think you'd prefer an option that doesn't stick out as much as 7-9 inches. You mentioned that if you need more freezer space (with one of the options), you could always get a freezer for the garage. How much would that cost? I would figure out what the true difference is between counter depth and standard depth, including the additional purchases you're willing to make, and see if it really is as much as you think. I hate that counter depth fridges are so much more expensive, but it really does make for a nice look when the fridge is all tucked in...See MoreViking Side by side refrigerator runs too much - temps off
Comments (6)I beleive that the Vikings were using Thermistors at that time and they generally don't go bad. I believe that is a single compressor unit and it blows air from the freezer to the refrigerator which circulates back to the freezer. I don't remember it the Thermistor is in the freezer or refrigerator but I think it is in the refrigerator which means the refrigerator control is what controls the compressor cycling. The unit is designed to have your freezer right around Zero and the freezer control controls the airflow to the refrigerator....See Morestove sticking out too far?
Comments (2)Your countertops look like a standard depth. And that's most likely what the range is made to fit. But range measurements are usually from the back of the unit to the very front of the oven handle. Oven doors typically have to be forward of the plane of the adjacent lower cabinets. Otherwise, hot air escaping from the oven would scorch the cabinets. ~4½" doesn't sound wildly off from what I would normally expect. So, I think this could be right. Look at it in a showroom....See Moredadoes
