It’s what I am feeling about all of you on this day.

I only have my mother in law. They are out of town, but I sent her a text. 😁

We've never been much into the hallmark holidays, and at our ages generally prefer to pick out our own treats. So I bought myself four little houseplants I've been wanting: two sundews and two pings, they are like beautiful little jewels! DH and DD say "happy Mother's Day" and I call that good :-)

My older son sent a container of annual flowers that will last all summer and my younger son will give me a Mandevilla vine that he gives me every year. I love both ( gifts and sons!). I have a big box of chocolate pretzels and other chocolates for my mom along with a musical card. She’s blind, so we stick to gifts that use her other senses! I also got a bouquet of tulips for her aide who will be with her today.

No more fuss than that. I agree with Nickel, Hallmark holidays are no big deal, plus some wonderful people have no special days.

My mother's day has been postponed to next Sunday. Daughter texted and said she wants to have a big dinner in her newly done entertainment center in her yard, and right now it's in the 40's and raining. . Son is away and will hopefully be able to come next Sunday. He already gave me a hanging basket.

Even with all of us vaccinated, we're still not trying to take my mother out anywhere. My brother and his wife are 10 minutes from her and wanted this afternoon. Too many of us in her small assisted apartment can be confusing for her, so DH and I are driving down on Tuesday. I have new kitchen towels, her favorite lipstick (Clinique and discontinued but I can find it new on Ebay ;0)), and a new pair of her favorite Vanity Fair nylon pajamas that she has worn for decades for her.

Called her this morning and she sounded good. She is cheerful most times that we talk.

My 12 year old son (with his Dad's help) did a great job this year.

I woke up to this on the kitchen table -

I got 2 beautiful arrangements of flowers. I was taken shopping yesterday by my best friend. She bought me lunch. Today my husband and Mia gave me a lovely card. We decided to go out to dinner tomorrow instead of tonight to avoid as much of a crowd. I had a great weekend.

DH and I went to the Dairy Queen, then to the Lake Huron beach park 1 block down to people watch. And all 4 kids called!

It was a nasty cold rainy day in the 40's so as I said no outdoor dinner. But she gave me my presents today which were a gorgeous bouquet of tulips and mixed flowers, an REI fanny pack with many compartments(for my phone) a collapsible water bottle , knee-high woolen hiking socks, and a beautiful candle with a peony scent. She gave me a lovely tulip card with a handwritten note and tickets to the Philadelphia Flower show in June.

Son was back from his trip and gave me a large self-watering container of flowers. My kids pick nice gifts.

My son texted me this morning and I was pretty shocked he even thought about it or knew the day. lol My daughter texted me later and offered to make me food tomorrow but she works later in the evening and so I suggested we go see a movie, on me. No movies playing that early in the day, probably because of Covid. The theaters are opening but only for a few hours in the late afternoon/evening. So we are having lunch before she goes to work. She said she felt bad that she couldn't "take me out on the town" but I told her I just wanted her company. I'm not big into all the commercialized holiday stuff anyway.

My daughter got me a macrame wall hanging and some lottery tickets and my son got me a mouse pad and hot pad with pictures of the grands on them. The best present was all of us together for the day. The guys cooked for us mothers.

DH dug a trench for me so that I could plant some gladiola bulbs. That was a wonderful present. Each week I will plant more glads in the same area so that I will have continuous colour for a while.

Son and nephews helped with the dishes.

We decided to wait to see DD until she is vaccinated because we don't want to take any chances in case we've caught it. We are two weeks out from the vaccine but DS and nephews have not received it yet, they will in the next couple of weeks.
