Do you have enough of the quartzite to do the perimeter in the same material? There isn't much to the perimeter countertop and in a small kitchen IMO two counter materials can be a bit overwhelming. If not, I would go for a solid pale color that matches the lightest colors in the quartzite (looks pale grey-blue on my monitor.

It's not a big kitchen but it's very open. The problem with a pale gray is it looks so flat against the blue gray cabinet. We looked at every brand we could find and all the grays just looked blah. White was too white because the color in the quartzite is more of a creamy off white. We are using almost the entire slab for our island.

Your eye will be drawn to that gorgeous quartzite on the island and a solid light colored quartz will look fine on the perimeter. I think a brown perimeter countertop would not be attractive in your kitchen. Btw, when I was looking at white quartz I could not find one that was as bright white as I wanted- some brands were a creamy white. I think you should consider other options besides brown.

the thing on the floor that the gray and the dark choice are resting on should be the perimeter counter color. A CREAM. You can certainly do a solid surface like corian etc as that perimeter counter isnt going to be a focus at all when you consider the island. Keep it simple.....If you want something more go to a hardware option for a tiny bit more of visuals. TRY a champagne bronze hardware considering that warmer shade of veining I see.

The biggest problem we had was all whites looked off next to the Island top and the floor. Our floor is warm and the white in the quartzite is creamy off white. I looked at hundreds of quartz all over sarasota.

Are you married to quartz? You might find another quartzite, granite, marble or even Corian that will work.

We bought the quartzite from TGP. What are your thoughts on opal white marble? I never considered another stone but this one is subtle. I know marble is difficult in a kitchen which made me stay away. But this one is soft and doesn’t have a lot of veining or movement.

I would do a solid cream Corian.

The marble you posted may work, although it reads very cool on my monitor (as does your floor). Can you post a better picture of your floor tile? Or are you open to changing the floor?
