What color should I paint my house?

I’m in the Midwest, ideas as to what color to paint the house?

It appears your house is stained, not painted. I like the color it is. The siding and stone blend in very nicely. I would restain it the same color if it actually needs to be redone. It is hard to tell in a picture if the existing stain is in bad condition.

I agree with cat_ky that the house appears to be stained. The color very well ties together your brick and your stone chimneys as well as your brown roof. Your landscaping is also nice. I would put more money into extending the planting beds even more. Get a professional designer to help you do that (and hide your HVAC compressors in back.) Step back from the front of the house quite a bit so we can see the whole setting. It's possible a beautiful stone walkway and a painted entrance doorway would enhance your already wonderful house. What's wrong with it?

Very much like the medium blue and the darker blue and the dark reddish brown and either of the last two suggestion of cawaps as long as any of them have the matching wood for the door and garage doors. IF, however, you paint the garage doors, then paint the garage doors the same color as the house exterior walls. The darker colors look better. What is your favorite color? Oh wow! Thank you for your responses. I should have posted my question sooner, I’ve gotten such great advice. I am interested in changing all of the colors. I do like the purple but like someone mentioned above it can be sort of dreary. I showed this to my family and they were pretty split with what idea they liked the best. I personally really like the cream and white house.

I like the overall color - if it were my house, I'd get an estimate for removing the rock and adding brick (something white-ish to go with the siding) and then add charcoal (same as your door) as your trim color. If you don't want to do the brick, maybe add cedar planks....

I would redo it with a bigger focus on the future roof than the one you have now. I’d paint the siding white and the brick I would white wash. And paint the front door black

Thank you guys for your ideas! You are correct, it is stain. We just moved in a few years ago and are working our way through the projects. A few of the siding boards need to be replaced, so it’s time to re-stain. Love the landscaping idea as well. I’ll send some more pics from further away in the morning.
