I would guess 15-20. Did a lot of moving around in my younger days. I'm on my 4th single family home that I've owned, and grew up in my parent's home. So that's 5 homes. Add in college living and young adult life and there are another 10-15 apartments in there.

14

Five, 2 different homes with my parents, 2 different places we rented when first married, and lastly the home we bought 49 years ago

Wow you guys moved a lot.

I just counted - 37 in 75 years. What makes it sorta scary is that in two of those places, it was for 10+ years each.

8 plus too many dorm rooms to count. Some in vary interesting parts of towns.

Growing up and until I got married (and not counting college), five apartments in two different cities. After marriage, only two houses 3 miles apart; we lived in one for 25 years, and have been in this one for 10. So I've only lived in three different geographic areas.

8

When I first moved to San Francisco at 22 or 23, I moved every two months for a couple of years. Then I stayed put for four years, but after that I moved every six months or so. I became more stable in my late 30s and lived in the same place in Culver City from 1989 to 1994, at which time I moved to Venice and stayed put for 15 years. I've been in Westchester since 2009, but Venice is still the place I've lived longest since I left my parents' house.

8 total. When I was born, we lived in a little rental. My dad built a house - on his own. What he didn't know how to do, he would go to the library and check out books, learn.

5 before being married, 3 since. DH loves this house and really wanted it. I can't quite imagine staying here if ever without him. It's a little too big with too much yard to want to take care of alone.

Three houses from birth to 20. The last 38 years in the present house and in between three apartments, four houses. So totaling 11 I guess.

9, not counting the three months we camped at the in-laws' while we were house hunting.

Eight over my life. Been in this house way too long.

Only 6, but we camped for one summer while we were between homes. It was a hoot, my Mom would come to visit and say how great this was and my DMIL would come and cry, she thought it was not great! We had a 4 yo and a 1 yo. Lots of diapers and no running water. Had to walk down to the laundry with the dirty diapers and laundry to wash. TV was on a stump outside most of the time!

This is #10. Numbers 1 - 4 were as a kid with my parents; 5 & 6 were on my own, since then it's been with DH. The longest in any one residence was 20 years in house #9.

27 that I remember. My dad was in the Navy and I was in the Air Force.

10 - 1st house for 18 years, present house for 38 years. There were a lot of moves following my husband's career for the middle years from 1972-1983.

13: One childhood home until 17 years old; 9 between ages 17 and 29 including dorm, sorority, apartments, 1st owned home; then 33 years in our family home and now in our retirement dream home.

8 I feel like I've moved a lot.

I like my house and want to stay here. The only thing that would make me move would be if more and more people moved up here. I hear terrible rumors of new subdivisions being planned a few miles away. Shudder. Or if I won the lottery. Then I would buy 200 acres and build a house dead center so I can be guaranteed peace and quiet.

30. Number 27 was for slightly more than 20 years.

28 or maybe 29. Hard to remember. We're in our final house ( 5 years) and the next one, if there is one, will be the nursing home.

Only 5--2 with parents and 3 with husband.

More than I want to remember. :) Lived in the same house until after High School

graduation then my feet started going.

8, plus a few dorm rooms and Navy ships.

Seven total. Since married 3.

The longest place I have lived in is the current one at 35 years. Before that it was 3 with my parents and 5 on my own. After getting married it has been 4 with DH. The next move will be either to assisted living or the cemetery.

17 including some that were just a few months

Growing up 2 different houses in Cincinnati + a couple of months in Pennsylvania

9 different places in Columbus, OH while in college and in the years after.

2 places in Minnesota

3 different houses here in central Virginia

Eight in childhood - the first house, which I was too young to really remember, then 4 houses, 2 apartments, and the last one was a stay with friends while I completed high school after my parent moved to another city for work. Then 12 as an adult - 4 apartments, then a house, a rented house, an apartment, another rented house, purchased house, 2 more apartments (one for only a month while I looked for a house to buy), then last this house that I've owned for 19 years.

I made a list and was able to come up with 21. I did not include places where I stayed for less than two months, and I counted the various rooms where I lived on campus as one.

I started on a farm in central Texas, then moved to Houston for university, then to Austin for four months, then San Francisco for three months, then back to Austin for eight months, back to San Francisco for 12 years, back to Austin for 3-1/2 years, then to Los Angeles, which is where I am now, although at the moment I am at our house in Cathedral City (Palm Springs adjacent). While in SF, I would spend 6-8 weeks in the winter in Mexico and 3-6 weeks in Vancouver around August. I did this for my health, as I was prone to severe sinus infections when it was cold and damp or foggy in SF. August was just as bad as winter.

I've been in Los Angeles for 32 years, which is the longest I've lived in one place, but I did move twice within L.A. but always near the beach.

ETA: I have had fewer illnesses in Los Angeles than anywhere else I have lived, and I do now enjoy going to the desert, which also seems to help. When Kevin and retire, we will sell our house in L.A. and buy a bigger one in Palm Springs. At least that is the current plan. We will have to see how real estate values change in the future. L.A. might remain somewhat stagnant while prices in PS continue to rise.

7, maybe 8.

I'm on #6

8 I think. 4 houses in 3 states, 3 apartments in 3 states, and one apartment in Manila, PI. I've also stayed in a company owned apartment in Monterrey, MX for some extended work stints over the years but that seemed more like a hotel than an apartment since it had maid service.

I will have my current house paid off in July and looking forward to no mortgage payments. You are all invited to the mortgage burning party!

Six true 'homes', all in Chicago suburbs. (Not counting any stays of only a few months.)

My parents brought me home from the hospital to an apartment, then bought a house in the same town, where I lived for 21 years.

DH and I rented a 1BR apartment as newlyweds, then a 2BR townhouse.

After DS, we bought a 3BR house and lived in it for 30 years, then built our present home 20 years ago.

Not an exact count but something between 15 and 20. Many more before age 30 than after. But for several years in Europe and excluding my active duty military time, all in coastal NorCal and SoCal. The first four locations were when I was a kid living with my parents, all in the same city. The remaining moves were mine and then my and my wife's changes.

21. Never moving again, I hope

Over 40, most of which were in childhood.

Mama was a rolling stone.

> Mama was a rolling stone.

Hopefully she doesn't look like Keith Richards.

No, but she had the moves like Jagger

1 apartment, 1 duplex, and 8 others.

5

I just wrote down all that I can remember, and came up with 24, not counting student housing. I may have forgotten one or two.

5 total. 2 with parents, 3 with DH. We have been in this house for 31 years.

13 times. Six growing up, and the rest after I married.

Let me think...

When my parents moved to Canada they lived in Calgary first:

1. with friends of friends
2. Kilarney
3. Downtown
4. row housing
5. bought their first house
6. moved to small town lived above restaurant they owned
7. moved back to their "first house"
8. Moved to BC with my parents
9. Roomed with some crazy old lady
10. Roomed with my moms friend
11. Roomed with a lady who had the hots for my dad
12. Came back to Calgary lived in a room in a basement
13. Group home (I was a "bad girl" about to have a baby)
14. Basement suite
15. High Rise Apartment
16. Roomed with a co-worker of my exhusband
17. Roomed with my exhusbands sister and brother in law
18. Basement suite
19. Roomed with my now husbands mother
20. Duplex
21. Duplex
22. This house for 26+ years

26 places in 61 years.

1. Mt. Laurel, New Jersey

2. Atlanta, Ga

3. Atlanta, Ga

4. Alpharetta, Ga (this was a rental while house being built, I try to block it out lol)

5. Milton, Ga

6. Cherry Log, Ga

Two. With parents, then this house I bought at age 26. Been here since 1978, 43yrs. come this November.

Yeah, I stayed with my parents too long. The week after I moved out, they turned my bedroom into a laundry room. lol

15 -- Wisconsin to Florida to New Orleans back to Florida, then Atlanta and then New York. My current (and I hope, forever) home is an apartment in a huge art deco prewar building in Manhattan. We've lived here just under 7 years, which makes us newcomers by our neighbors' standards. People love our building so much that they move to bigger or smaller apartments as their family needs change. Lots of elderly who have been here 30, 40 years or more. There is a woman in her 70s who lives down the hall, who came here as a newborn straight from the hospital.

I lived in the house I grew up in for 25 years, moved out of Province and lived in 3 places then eventually moved back into the house I grew up in to take care of my Mom and where I have been ever since
