Is there a rule for accent walls?
Comments (13)Hmm, good points. The master bath is 10'x10'. No real reason for the accent other than to add a touch of color. Currently its gray with gray trim-kinda boring. My plan was a blue ceiling, gray walls, off white trim and a blue accent wall. Here is a picture of the master bath wall I was going to put the blue on. A picture of the wall color with the blue (ceiling) and white (trim) and a picture of the accent color with the ceiling color and trim color. Any ideas or should I just lose the accent wall? Thanks! Comments (2)The space is great…my daughter lives in a renovated A & P foundry/bakery/cannery, so I am a bit familiar with the style. I would paint all the solid walls brown, except over the the kitchen cabs…do that white…we did B.M Black Bean Soup for the brown/black. Brick wall white. Furniture: mid century. Wall art: unless it is a large statement, don’t hang any. Put it in the bedroom or bath....See MoreWhich walls should I accent? Open yet smaller floor plan.
Comments (5)Your blue TV wall is the only accent wall you should have. As sue j says, consistent paint color in open spaces is the way to go. Instead, use art work, pillows, and rugs to bring color to your space. The walls should be background, not foreground. Some suggestions to bring more texture and pattern into the space: --living room rug --blue/tan/dark red Consider looking for a midcentury style Craigslist search for a long, low credenza to fill three fourths of the TV wall. Your media console disappears into the wall--maybe a good thing. But if you see an affordable beautiful long wood piece for that wall, it would really add warmth to the room. Dining area: add a large art work to the wall in blues/tans/reds instead of thinking about an accent wall....See Morewhich wall to accent for toddler room n
Comments (5)The front wall with windows will work. I recommend using bright colors that energize your child and help him to remain active for better observation. Different colors have different effects on the brain; Red is used to stimulate the body and mind and increase circulation. Yellow is thought to stimulate the nerves and purify the body. Orange is used to heal the lungs and to increase energy levels, so choose them carefully....See MoreJoe Silvestri
