Please help me diagnose my blueberry bushes

Kari Johnson

I started growing blueberries a few years ago - purchased a Northblue and a Jellybean on a whim from Home Depot - and the very first year I grew them they had a bunch of red spots all over the leaves and stems. I didn't even really think anything of it. I think the stock was diseased. I just got another couple of plants this year from a reputable nursery, now as a more serious gardener, and they look nothing like the ones from Home Depot and I am wondering if it is viral and if the plants need to be destroyed. The leaves have just emerged and already have the beginnings of red spots on them, which is why I think it's viral. I am also wondering if this disease could have spread to my new healthy plants already (all are in containers, but I repotted my old bushes this spring and didn't sanitize the container I mixed the new potting mix in with some of the old).
