We are also considering a border around the deck to coordinate with hardscape. What did you decide to do? Please post photos if you have them!

My hubby was a little worried about staining on the lighter gray. It just so happened that we found a gorgeous reddish brown mahogany front door so we already have the color to pull from. It was so hard...I just loved Island Mist but it was going to be right next to the brick (outdoor fireplace) and our brick was more of a gray with purple undertones and some red/purple brick mixed in. I just kept looking at the sample next to the brick an it was way off. If you can get a sample I recommend looking at it next to your exterior in different natural lights. It gives you the true color

Composite decking is almost always going to be the better option as far as quality is concerned. And it's still quite a bit more expensive than cedar (even though it is high). Also, if you do choose composite you might look at additional options aside from Trex. It's really not the best quality. They just do a good job with their marketing and getting their name out. Aztek is really good. If you were our client, being that the deck is covered I would advise you to go with cedar. Unless of course the budget isn't an issue. I think trying to match your siding and brick is probably an exercise in futility because of the various undertones possible in beiges. Unless you have an HOA that is limiting your color choice I would be looking at a medium to dark brown - approximating a natural wood color. You will get better advice however if you show us pictures of the colors you're considering.
