I saw the knock to open on the UK site (I think). It's pretty cool, but we're just doing stainless and it'll go well enough with the new speed oven, it appears. We're planning on going with Dimension. I can't recall all the reasons why. I think only that and Diamond have the hard water deal, but we didn't see any extra features we had to have on Diamond. That being said, I think we'll visit Miele in San Francisco this weekend and see what they have to say about the new models. We could definitely wait. We're giving the Samsung and several appliances to MIL/FIL. They moved this past year and aren't ready for a full kitchen reno yet, but what we're not using is better than what they've got. And their dishwasher doesn't work at all. So we could delay giving it to them. If it was the fridge, washer or dryer, I could see waiting because theirs work. But with it being the dishwasher which doesn't...I feel weird keeping it longer. And I want everything new in my kitchen at once. They'll have to really wow me. :)

If they are sturdy enough, I would use a regular pull. I put the faux pull on the door, but my kitchen is very small and you notice little things. I tried to have a regular pull on the drawer (a finger pull) but it wasnt sturdy enough to open my Miele without really tugging. I was getting a sturdier pull for my paneled fridge, so I used one that matched that.

My understanding when I was looking for heavy-duty appliance pulls (for fridge and freezer, NOT for dishwasher / fridge drawers) is that you really need a pull indicated for appliances because they'll have the strength to not just pull right out of the panel. I was also looking at an RH 12" pull and, this is purely anecdotal, my cabinetmaker said "No." He's the one who first told me that regular pulls aren't strong enough to (repeatedly) pull open a heavy fridge door. Someone else, I think it was at an appliance store, anyway, they told me to make sure to have heavy-duty pulls and long, strong screws to withstand the weight (of the panels and loaded door). Luckily I found an appliance pull I loved (but it took soooo long!). And I have to say, now that I've been pulling open our (heavy) fridge and freezer doors I can understand why the RH pull I liked would have been a total dud (for my panels and appliances).

You will definitely want appliance pulls for the SZ refrigerator (door and drawers). Those doors are quite heavy and need a sturdier pull. The appliance pulls are bigger in diameter and have a deeper projection than a standard drawer pull. The rest of the appliances can use a standard pull. For undercounter appliances like the dishwasher and 24" fridge/freezer drawers, you don't want a pull that sticks out too far, so the deeper projection of an appliance pull would not be great. Also you want them to match the rest of your cabinetry so it all blends. I hope this helps!
