A Weds nite/Thursday morning cold rain here. More concerned with the upper 20's predicted on both Friday/Sat mornings.

Thursday morning is currently showing a low of 27, clear and windy here High on Thursday showing 53. After that the 15 day forecast is all highs in the 60s and 70s with no lows below 47.

I just transplanted 50 leeks on Sunday and am a little worried about them if it drops even lower than forecast in my valley microclimate. I have another tub of ~75 as backup if needed. Glad I didn't give them to my neighbors yet.

Here in Southern Oregon March pretty much came in like a lamb, and it's also going out like a lamb.

Our March here in Manitoba came in like a lamb and is definitely going out like a lion! It's cold and stormy but not too much snow. On the whole, our weather has been unusually warm this winter.

Won't go out like a lamb here either - rain, cold, highs in the 40's lows in the 20's ( the low temp expected for one day is 21 ). Flowering trees are in full bloom here, and sadly they will freeze.

A bit warmer than usual here but it's welcome. It's supposed to be in the low to mid 80s through the end of the week then a return to the 70s. We've had very little rain this winter and the rainy season is coming to an end so it will be draught conditions for this year.

I've always heard in like a lion/out like a lamb OR in like a lamb/out like a lion.

Where I live, we definitely had in like a lamb AND out like a lamb. Bizarre. We did have some big storms in the middle of the month, though.

Warm here in PA today with temps in the upper 60's but rain tomorrow and maybe snow flurries on Thursday.

Much warmer here in Central Oklahoma, but man oh man! The wind is HOWLING!! Yesterday we had some 62MPH gusts! That is NOT what I'd call "out like a lamb!"

Alisande - I probably don't even need the 50 I already planted. The seeds were 3 years old and I didn't know how well they would germinate so I sowed them all in 2 containers around Christmas. I must have gotten 80-90% germination. Good to know that I have the backups waiting if the ones already planted out get frozen. If I don't use them the neighbors will have to deal with them! haha

I'm cutting back a bit on the garden this year and planting some cover crops in a few beds.

Gale warnings and fire hazard warnings and upper 60's today into a 30's night and to 30's-40's with good winds till Friday when it starts getting nice again. It's a lion year here.

Hard freezes predicted for tomorrow night and Thursday, which has me worried since the apricots are in full bloom (so is the nanking cherry, but I don't really care that much if it sets fruit). Buds are swelling on all the other fruit trees - the peach and one pear are the farthest along but not quite showing pink so they might be okay, depending on just how cold it gets. If it hadn't been so warm the past 2 days (it is 74F today) they might tolerate the freeze better.

I am going in a bit to buy a couple of frost blankets since I don't think that sheets will be protection enough, and I really would like to get a couple of apricots if possible. Last year we had a late freeze that took out most of the cherries and apples along with all of the other stone fruits that had set.

Hard freeze on the way here, too. March has had some nice days and a lot of wind. Guess April is coming in like a polar bear. I have a few pansies in a pot and I will cover them. I’m sure the magnolias will all get nipped as they often do. I also have some Giant Allium that are about seven inches high. Maybe I’ll cover them since I’d really like them to do well.

I'm unhappy with the lack of rain and snow this year, we really need a wet year badly, but loving the current weather. It's gotten me outside walking in the local parks when I don't have my horse days. Looks like a dry year unless we get some April/May showers.

70 today. Everything is blooming and beautiful. Tomorrow 100% chance of rain and 52 for a high. Next day drops to 28 for a low and 40 for a high. Friday will drop to 21. Can't do the degree sign cause I'm at work typing on my phone. I keep going back and looking at the posts I made.and having to fix errors my fat fingers make.

March came in like a lamb here near Chicago, and it's going out like a lion with below-freezing overnights for two nights before it warms again. March has us an inch below normal on rain. Last year May brought rain, then a hot, dry summer.

I saw a story about how climate change threatens crop storage. Temperatures used to be cool enough to keep all kinds of crops without air conditioning them. Not so now all across the Midwest and northern states. The story cited potatoes, apples, and othergenerally hardy crops (not just fragile fruits and leafy produce). Great, more A/C means more need for electricity. Can we get green power generation fast enough? More fosil fuels = More warming.

I haven't planted the tomato, pumpkins, or zinnias. Only cold weather annuals or perennials. We have two cold"er" nights left, and after that, it's all going in the ground. Warm weather is close!

I feel bad for those of you with hard freezes coming. We've lost our entire apple crops when that has happened. So disappointing!

Cold temps and snow overnight, maybe an inch or less. They say it won't stick around long as the ground is so warm. More cold temps until Saturday. I went out and covered my David Austin Charlotte rose that is bursting with small new leaves. Just to be safe.

Since yesterday AM the peach, the pear and now also a plum and an apple (these are all dwarf trees in pots) progressed their buds far enough that I despair of their survival - the forecast is now for a low temp of 23 tomorrow night (26 tonight). I did wrap and cover as much as I could, having no idea if any of it will be enough.

The roses and blooming spring bulbs are on their own. I cut a bunch of daffodils and hyacinths for a bouquet just in case they are taken out by the freeze.

Ended up with only a dusting of snow out there. It's cold though. I'm glad I decided to fill the bird feeders.

April is coming in like a lion here, outside of Erie, PA.

Only a dusting here too. Cold and windy. I scattered some seed but was reluctant to hang a feeder again. It was around this time last year that my best feeder got squashed by a bear. If we get winter weather this month I'll put one out and ask Alexa to remind me to take it in after dark.
