Comments (101)"I have lived in the San Franciso Bay area by the way." I said nothing disparaging about the South other than to say fried food is much more common than in other parts of the country. And that parts of Missouri I've been to (yes, the southern part) seemed much more "Southern" than not. That was in response to littlebug's photo showing that cafe's every special that day, dessert included, was fried. I'm sure living in different places had many positive aspects for you. Are you the person who mentioned some time ago having spent time living in Davis? With the exception of UCD that gives it some of a college town vibe that could be anywhere, I think Davis is much more accurately described as a Sacramento Valley location than a Bay Area one. Comments (56)Due to various scheduling requests from the kids we opted for dinner at 2:00 instead of 3. It was a great decision. Everything was ready on time, the food was delicious and we ended up sitting around the table for hours enjoying the conversation. Surprisingly the 3 granddaughters (ages 4 1/2, 2 1/2 and 2) all sat together at the end of the table and happily amused each other with minimal input from parents. Comments (49)Yesterday I made a big batch of my 'taco' filling - which is ground beef, onions, peppers, garlic, tomatoes, corn & beans, seasoned with cumin, chipotle, black pepper, smoked salt and oregano - and I always add a cup or so of finely grated carrots too. Along with a basic green salad of lettuce, tomatoes, cukes, green onion and fresh basil. That will be dinner for a few days. I make a taco salad with crushed chips and salsa on top of the taco filling and some American cheese. Comments (47)I think the main reason why I never use that Cuisinart FP is because it's so darn complicated. I had an old Sunbeam (I think that's what it was) for years and it was so simple to put together. I used it often but it finally bit the dust so I got the Cuisinart one and every time I've tried to use it, I have to watch a video of how to put it together. It really should NOT be that difficult to assemble! Similar thing with the newest rendition of the Black and Decker carpet spot cleaner. Our old one gave up the ghost so we had to buy the newest one and I really just do not like it. Taking it apart for cleaning is a puzzle each time. The old one was so simple and it also did a better job of cleaning up the dog accidents. I use it because I have to....See More
