We bought a bought a double leather chaise theater sofa and the leather wore through and split in several places. We contacted the retailer to get it fixed/replaced under thier 5 year warranty. It took 6 months for Palliser to answer our retailer Hache. They said we abused the couch. Two grown adults, no children or pets can not abuse a couch just by sitting on it. On Pallisers facebook page they said they send out technicians if there is a problem. They even told me to contact the company directly which I did. Again no technician came out. Again they said my husband and I abused the sofa. We have had leather couches in the past and they have lasted more than 10 years. We were even able to sell them when we changed decor. WIth the Palliser sofa our choices due to their terrible leather quality made in Mexico are to throw out the sofa, put a sofa cover on it or tape them up. Palliser quality is terrible and they don't honor their 5 year warranty.

Hi, I don't have any great, authoratative advice... so take what I say with a grain of salt. However, I did have leather sofas for several years and had three dogs jumping on them all day long. They were white leather, too. I didn't like the sofas (they were my now-husband's)so I didn't freak out about any damage. But really there wasn't much at all! Absolutley no rips, just some light scratches. And we were awful about keeping our dogs nails clipped. Also, I just overheard someone say that she clips her cat's nails when the cat is half asleep and hasn't had the need to declaw. I am in the process of purchasing a new sofa and recliner and the sofa will be in a very nice fabric and the recliner in leather! AND I have a 3 year old and a dog! Am I nuts? Probably. I am much more worried about the dog on the fabric than anything else. I think leather is very forgiving in general, although I am sure the quality is a big factor. If I were you I would go for it, after checking out the quality of the leather.

I think I remember reading lots of negative experiences with that company on the Furniture Forum, though I have no personal experience with them. I hope they make it right!

Thank you for your response! Just now talked to Stephanie from the company and she explained the situation - pretty much foam supply etc are cut to 25% due to texas freeze that happened which blew up some pipelines. This really sucks as it is on top of COVID delay.
