I'd like some suggestions to update my kitchen. I need help! :-)
Comments (7)As much as I love dark stains, painting the cabinets may be the way to go. White, Grey, Blues are what is "in" right now but they're still nice neutral colors. My issue with this kitchen is what appear to be 30" wall cabinets and larger than life ceiling height in comparison. it makes the space seem short. lighter cabinets and maybe a darker wall color will close this gap. A horizontal backsplash will also help visually make the space longer, making it appear bigger....See MoreHelp! Need ideas for updating my early 90's Colorado home
Comments (1)My sister had a very generic back yard/patio. A few years after moving in they decided to re-do the entire back area. She had 3 landscape firms draw up plans, explaining that she wanted each to provide their best ideas and bid on the project. She picked the one that best fit her needs, but did end up incorporating some ideas from all 3....See MoreHelp! I need help updating my red roofed 50's bungalow
Comments (15)What a darling house! I'd play around with the color blocking and not assume the siding and garage door have to match. Maybe paint the garage door to match the brick, as in @celerygirl mock-up, and then decide what to do with the siding. A new front door and light, and maybe new more vertical railings. I agree the bench should be removed and some vertical planters added in that space....See Moreneed help with ideas on how to update the exterior of my home
Comments (2)Several things you could do: Remove the flower bed in front of the door; it’s usually not a good thing to plant right in front of your main entry. Mentioning the front door, paint the bright white trim to match the door. Same on the garage - match the trim to the door. Remove those shutter-ettes from the second story windows. Very obviously fakes. Have you thought of a shade of green for your house body? Samples below. I like the brick and it goes well with your roof....See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
