Need help picking a paint color for ranch remodel
Hi. We are in the process of doing a complete remodel on our older ranch style house. Attached are pics of the kitchen cabinets samples. The lighter gray being held will be the cabinet color and the slim darker strip above will be the island.
The sheetrock will be done this week and I’m desperately searching for a paint color. The kitchen, dining and living walls have been removed so it’s an open concept. I’ll also attach a pic of the fireplace and the original floors that have been refinished. The paint will be bought at Sherwin Williams and I’m looking at Agreeable Gray? What do you think? Help please.

Comments (3)You can't go wrong with a neutral about the color of light mushrooms. It doesn't read white or beige, but somewhere in between. When this color was first recommended to us, I thought the sample chip was *way* too dark, but it's not. It will go with your blues and complement your green and browns. And...paint's cheap. The picture is fairly dark and when I enlarged it, it was still difficult to get a sense of color because on my monitor there doesn't appear to be any variations of tone. Can you take a couple more pictures of your house when the sun is shining on the front side? First one from same spot as this picture and then another one facing the full front would be good. Comments (14)try using a latex paint remover. you can find it at the big stores. grab a stiff wire brush and a bucket of water. it should work enough so that you don't see it. I photoshopped a few doors/colors/address plaques and lights for you. see what you like. ('cuz that 1950's grandma front door needs to go along w/those shutters!) I like the black option w/copper. the copper will compliment the brick color and the black always looks good w/both I like this door. And, you might think about painting the trim around the windows (did you notice I covered up all your shutters?? looks good huh?) in a darker trim color. gave you this mahogany glass panel door. modern black numbers, a modern chair. I'd paint the other door one of these dark colors, bring in a more modern light. If black is too harsh, think about Urbane Bronze or Iron Ore. both look great w/orange brick. try something modern like this w/the numbers, potted plants, lighting, Here is an orange brick house with complimentary colors and light fixtures. another nice door color is a peacock blue, sage, blue/green, tone soft blue/green with copper and your orange brick always look good Yam color door, bronze light, warm wood and gray tones also work. Work with the floors for color. It is the dominant in the room.
Consider B.M. Hushed Hue.
Gorgeous with the floors, the stacked stone fireplace and the grays of the cabinets/island.If you are a lover of color on the ceiling try B.M. Silver Mist

3 years agoif you decide to do a white what about alabaster? We did alabaster cabinets and agreeable gray walls in a condo reno. Alabaster is a warm white from SW.
