I have a Brizo touch faucet that also has problems, and has had for some time. In my case the lost-computer-mind can be corrected temporarily by performing a reset, for which a button is available. There are also mechanical issues with the spray head. My impression is that Delta tried to computerize features on the cheap, building unreliable software and insufficient design margin hardware. If testing was sufficient, these issues would have been detected. So either they didn't test adequately, or they manufactured the units anyway, selling the Brizo design as high-end. I don't know where the Trinsic is priced. Does yours continue to malfunction after you reset it? If it doesn't have a reset button, then unplug it for a few minutes and see what it does after plugging it back in. kas

We just did a wall-mounted faucet as well, but with an undermount sink. The faucet was mounted approx 6" above the countertop, I like the look of your set-up; it's exactly what was in my mind. Thanks for sharing, especially the pictures! Most importantly, you will need a good quality faucet. No matter what I do, I'm going with good quality, name brand faucets. Of all the things I don't want to go bad in my house, water-containing items are at the top of the list. After that decision, we chose these particular faucets due to the the length of the spout. How far does your faucet protrude from the wall? Stephemt, I'd like to hear the same answer about your layout. I'm leaning towards an undermount sink like Stephemt's. Does this make a difference? That said, installing wall faucets is a lot more complicated then installing countertop faucets. In our case, we built a small pony wall (open at the bottom) in front of what's an exterior wall. I think I'm into the pony wall -- it makes for a nice ledge. My sink will be placed against an interior wall, but the kitchen is on the opposite side; I can see the pony wall as a way to protect the plumbing /make it accessible -- am I thinking along the right lines? Thinking of function, would you do the pony wall again? If you hire a plumber, you will need to know and communicate the thickness of your finished wall before the rough plumbing is installed. Oh, I'm hiring a plumber. I admire you for DIYing your bathroom, but that's pretty far outside my current skills set. I wouldn't have thought to let the plumber know ahead of time that the wall would be extra-thick -- valuable information! And thanks for the nice, clear shot of your faucet. Definitely helpful! I don't see a need for separate hot and cold handles other than for style reasons. It's just as easy with a single lever to choose either hot or cold. Personal preference. What we have are "click-clack" touch drain plugs (what I called pop-up), we do not have the lever rod-based "pop-up" drain plugs (what I would call pull-up). Okay, I understand the difference now. I've only ever had the rod-behind type and didn't really realize another option existed. Well, not since I lived in my grandparents' old, old house and we had plastic rubber "stoppers" that we placed over the drain. I'm glad to recognize that options exist, but I think I don't care about this detail. Many thanks to all!

Hello there. I would like to offer my thoughts for what it may be worth. For the record, I do not own the Nicoli faucet personally. From my experience, often some subtle differences can make a big difference on product longevity. Two products may appear similar but possess different technologies, are made of different materials (in part), and may even include certain fittings in the box another product does not, thus, driving up its price. That being said, speaking only regarding the technologies of these two products, the "Trinsic" line has "Diamond Seal Technology". I would wager that is most likely the culprit for the price difference. From my research this technology consists of two separate technologies, the "Innoflex PEX supply line" and a "diamond embedded ceramic seal". The main benefits of which, to summarize, are simpler/quicker installation and a product that has allegedly twice the longevity of others.. To put this simply, you are paying more for a product that can be installed quicker and easier and one that you may not know if it actually lasts twice as long as other faucets unless, 1. It lasts double as long as others which may be a 30 year wait (I have $40 builder special faucets still going 15 years and counting), or 2. If you buy the cheaper faucet and it needs replacing earlier then it should because of a defect/break etc. Essentially, either way you look at it, you have quite a poor assurance of what your spending almost $100 more for. On another note, worst case scenario, both products have the same "Limited Lifetime Warranty" so if the cheaper product breaks early, you can rely on the warranty possibly for a replacement. At that point it comes down to wasting your time for re-installation which ironically is also the case now should you return and re-install the other product.

Thank you all for the comments, I appreciate the time you took to write them I'll try to respond to a few points thrown out: 1) The lever placement is not fixed for eternity. To simplify construction of the prototype we placed it in front, but it could also be mounted on the side. However, since the faucet body is set back slightly due to being mounted on the wall, moving the handle location to the front allows for easy reach. I won't go into it now, but forward facing handles have several advantages over side ones, and I believe more faucets will move in that direction. Big names such as Vola and Waterstone utilize forward facing handles, try it for yourself, you may be pleasantly surprised! 2) Please don't get hung up on how the design looks, I was limited by time and money while producing this, as well as the capabilities of the fabrication shop. With enough resources, the exterior of the faucet could be matched to any style. This was definitely just proving the concept. And @course411 is right, even with a basic design it took a long time just getting to this point. 3) @User (Verbo) is right about wall mounts having a "traditional" atmosphere about them, but I don't think we have to limit ourselves to that rigid view. It is easy to come to that idea because faucet manufacturers tend to clothe wall mounts in "traditional" exteriors, but if the same advancements were put to wall mounts that are applied to deck mounts, nobody would raise an eyebrow. I am not against deck mount faucets, but I have seen enough cases where the area around them is hard to clean, and ends up growing yucky stuff. I have browsed enough websites and forums to learn that there is a significant number of people who want the benefits a wall mount affords, but wish they didn't have to forgo advancements from the last 70 years - okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration :) Thank you again for your comments
