I had quite the collection of vintage crocks, copper and decoys back when I lived in our 110 yr old farmhouse. Sold them all when we moved. That Staffordshire blue and white china still catches my eye though!

What? Their kids didn't want the stuff?

I have two crocks, and need a third, to be the street numbers on my front porch. But, the third number I need would be a huge crock. I’ve only ever seen one at a flea market, and it had a such a long crack, I didn‘t think it would survive a winter on the porch, and besides it was expensive. (No, they wouldn’t be my only numbers, don’t be silly, but I thought it would be cute)

I love that red transferware! And the red and white quilt.

It does rather look like an antique store going-out-of-business sale. So many hutches and dolls.

But, nice presentation by the sale company! I feel like I could really see something I like from the individual photos, and use the in-situ photos to walk in and go right to what I want. unless, of course, they move things again.

Primitive styles have always called to me. Whenever I tour an old home of this style (especially when visiting the NE part of our country), I just feel like I could move right in and live a simple life. Until the temperature drops below 50, then forget it. 😁

I gather that's all from one home. Some lovely things, but sooo many. I don't think I've ever seen so many hutches/secretaries and collections in one home.

This is so much like my aunt's house. Her house is filled with primitive art, stoneware, crocks, furniture, and tins. I have no idea what she is going to do with all of it. My cousin doesn't want any of it.

My aunt and uncle's hobby was going to auctions and working auctions all over PA and the surrounding area. She said the market for this type stuff is not very good where she lives anymore.

I would love a lot of this... Fortunately I am also trying NOT to acquire anything extra in my home (except some kitchen stuff). Hoping the good things here go to a good and deserving home!

I like the roll top desk and copper fish platter too. I'm not really the type of person that collects in general so much of it just screams "too much stuff!" to my eyes. Hopefully people who do love to collect will swoop in and save these items for the future. I imagine if my parents were collectors I would keep some of the items, especially ones that bring fond memories, but I cannot imagine keeping an entire collection like this.

There are't enough wows to express how much I love it! I want the little sheep and gnomes on the shelf with the crownford calico china. Note to self, must google sheep.

That turkey looks like mine! I bought it at Pat Catans some years ago. It's a good replica (mine, that is).

There is a lot of really cool, interesting stuff, and some beautiful furniture. I surely don’t need any of it, but I enjoyed looking.

It is fun to look isn’t it? One of these days when they have something I want I’m going to go.

Hey, I have a deer head in my garage! Came from my great aunts house. It was fun to look at all this stuff from the olden days. I love the dinged up quality of the cabinet. Makes me wonder who dented it and how. My mother’s neighbor from many years ago had a small museum in her house of primitive antiques she had collected. I used to love looking at them.

I grew up with antiques like that - my mom has a much smaller dry sink & a reverse painted wall clock, but her clock has strawberries on it. Early American antiques were all the rage when she was a newlywed furnishing her home in the late 50s. She says she and my dad would drive out from NYC on the weekends to go to country auctions, where they found most of them.

I wonder if there will ever be a resurgence of interest in this old stuff among younger generations. My parents were really into antiques too as I was earlier on. I have a few nice antiques from my family and DH's along with a couple things we bought ourselves but I no longer seek them out, in part because I don't really need anything.

2katz, my DD loves antiques and vintage. Her (and her boyfriend’s) apt has some of the original 1940’s features, and she does a mix of antique, mid-century, and vintage decor. They just found a great working 70’s stereo cabinet for the living room. They collect old albums.

I’m so glad because I want to pass down family antiques to her someday.

Jinx, a lot of old houses around here have telephone nooks. I think your daughter should get a vintage type telephone and stick a phone book in the rightful place! :)
