Windows Design Dilemma

Kitchen window: white or bronze frame?

I have a 64"W window over the sink in my kitchen. Planning a complete remodel of the kitchen & want to change the existing window. Style of kitchen is transitional-modern and wish to have a black/bronze window frame inside to go with the new kitchen. However, all the existing windows in the house have white frames. Is it weird to have just the single kitchen window have a bronze frame? We'll likely update the other windows in 1-2 years when it's time. Thanks for your input!

Usually these color questions would be the result of considerations of wall, cabinets, finishes, etc.

If the plan is to change all the rest then IMO do the bronze now and change the rest when you are ready. I would however need to really see the reason for the bronze in the kitchen.

I've never seen it. My grandmother had the little shelves. I'm guessing that you're talking about the same kind of thing, but with doors? I'd think the main reason it isn't done is that it's non-standard (many lines don't have angled cabinets), and you can't put as much stuff in them. I don't really like where cabinets start and stop on either side of windows, and I considered doing my grandmother's little shelves to soften that, and considered curved cabinets as well. In the end, I needed the storage, and wasn't getting MDF (for the curves), and used tiled window frames and a garden window bump out to change the space instead. I think your angled cabinets sound like a great idea. You might not find a picture of that, but you should be able to find pictures of angled window enclosures in stone walls. Same idea. :)

Dark Bronze Exterior window color or off white?

The darker windows offer a more custom, upscale appearance but if you are concerned that they could appear dated at some point, here's an idea: If you plan to sell within the next five years, go with the dark color. If you plan to keep your home longer, go with the white and add a rich, custom look through other accessories such as shutters and front door color.

instead of the black, have you thought about bronze? and instead of beige, why not do a dark charcoal or black trim? I think if you got your black window it would tend to tie it together better than beige and the one odd black window. ya know? I have a similar style home. I did a black french casement window for my kitchen window that looks right out the front porch. there is only one other white window on the front of the house. this is a horrible picture because it was right after painting and nothing was cleaned up, but it gives you an idea. the trim is Wrought Iron. you can just see the black window in the background

White trim but the window finish lines and frame would be black/bronzish. People kept saying to go with the black bronze becauee it’s more modern and tends to disappear but idk I can’t make a decision. White is beautiful but idk😫😫

Thanks for your responses. Cabinets are going to be grey-white shakers, black hardware, island is going to be dark stain, floor is European white oak, brown with grayish distressing.

In any case IMO all modern style kitchens I’ve seen look great with black frames/grids on windows. This window is technically the only window in the kitchen.

Then on the dining side, there’s a patio French door with sidelites to the backyard, painted/trimmed in white. Husband wants to get folding door or accordion door in the future.
