Trim white to go with balboa mist??

I am looking for a neutral white to go with balboa mist. Not yellow undertone for sure. 😊

Just make sure you test a large sample, including putting it in corners against itself. I recently painted our bedroom Balboa Mist. It looked very pretty when looking right at where it touched white, like white trim and curtains. But I kept seeing it from an adjoining room and there wasn't any white in that view, and it kept looking like a dirty off-white, with purplish undertones in the corners. That isn't meant to dump on your color at all! It struck me as beachy against lots of white trim. Light and airy. I just thought I'd mention it since it was frustrating to repaint.

I love Balboa Mist BM.

I love how this color looks gray but during different times can looks almost greige or light cool beige. We painted all our trim in Super White by BM. It is not a white color everyone loves. It is a crisp white very clean color that makes my Balboa Mist stand out.

nyc_11372 what did you decide on? I'm making this exact same decision right now - Balboa Mist or Pale Oak on the walls and I need a white for my kitchen cabinets and trim throughout the space. I am drawn towards Chantilly Lace because I prefer a crisp white, but I worry it may be too stark and the Simply White will be the right choice. I've always done Decorator's White in past homes which I like, but now that I've discovered Chantilly Lace it reads more blue to me. The kitchen cabinets won't get a lot of direct natural light (this is for a basement apartment where the kitchen is in the back of the space).

I have heard of all three, but have experience with BM Manchester Tan. It holds its color, no matter what it’s exposure. You will need to get samples and paint them a large poster board. See what happens to the colors during the day and evening. Balboa and Ashwood are in the gray family, so a different direction than Manchester,which is more in the beige family. ,

I am in the same colour dilemma situation. With the lighter cabinets my vote would be agreeable grey. I see the date of the post now. Probably painted already :) I read and I read a lot about colours it is mentioned the you should paint a colour with a pink purple or blue undertone with warm oak cabinets. I would love to know what you went with!

I think it will look great with Balboa Mist. I would make sure you paint a sample and hold it next to the wood floors to be sure you like it. What I love about Balboa Mist is that it really is one of those colors that works well with warm or cool tones.

That’s ok. I appreciate your comments. I have heard about the purple undertones. I have it in my house already and love it. I don’t see the purple but everyones lighting is different. I am leaning towards Oxford white for trim now. Benjamin Moore advice given the new flooring I am putting in. Isn’t decorating fun 🤩

I love Oxford White BM.

And I totally love my Balboa Mist BM painted interior. I have been fortunate as I don't see any purple undertones. What I love about the color is that is goes nicely with my warm grass shades and the warmth of the dark hickory wood floors. I have lots of white trim everywhere so perhaps @janisstew is correct the white makes the color look better. I also have lots and lots of windows bringing in light.

Janis do you have any photos? I would love to see how it looks in a bedroom?

My new flooring goes in on Monday

(tomorrow) so I will send pictures, once done, of balboa mist with Oxford white trim in livingroom/ dining room, hallway and bedroom 😊🌺

Cantilly lace looks amazing with balboa mist Oxford white will look great as well! I am contemplating using balboa mist in northern exposure definitely a ninja.

Hi everyone! Please send pictures of your balboa mist walls! I have that color going in next week and still questioning if I chose right. I actually got the 50% lighter formula bc looking for a much lighter shade… so nervous !!

We are doing our whole house in balboa mist with chantilly lace trim. We love it! It looks good in every room downstairs, and feels much lighter and brighter than the previous silver fox. It also looks great with Arlo petite rustique blinds (natural bamboo color). Now I want have my shaker kitchen cabinets painted white (from a dark espresso-ish maple) and bleach out all my espresso furniture.
