How can I darken a marble backsplash?

I absolutely hate how my new Carrara Marble backsplash looks against my new countertop. The tile is much lighter than the counter and it makes the counter look dingy. Can anyone recommend a product that will darken the tile, preferable to a grey? Replacing either is not an option. Thanks for your help.

Oh that is a bummer. How frustrating. Are you sure you want to stain or treat it? I am thinking maybe a tinted sealer? My fear would it would ruin it or not be the exact shade or color you want to change it too. What if it creates a bigger nightmare? I have no idea. I am sure the Stone Gurus will give you ideas or suggestions. Do you have any photos? What about undercabinet lighting? Maybe adjust the bulbs so they are really bright and light to the space. I have seen lighting completely change the color of white cabinets and whited spaces.

Has it been sealed? If not maybe a color enhancing sealer? Test it on a sample first.

That looks like the convention of about 4" in the picture...maybe you could go 6" to reduce splashing--or you could go all the way to the counter if you don't mind cleaning the bottom of the mirror. I probably would not ease the top of the splash, I think I would want a straight edge-to-straight edge relationship between the marble and the mirror. I personally really like the look of boundary to boundary mirror like this (whatever the boundary may be). That is a great looking set up in your sample picture. One of my favorite small powderrooms has a counter to ceiling wall to wall mirror with a chandelier hanging in front of it. I think its clean and timeless, not d---- like some people like to call it:)

Yes, the marble lightened somewhat; some is still light gray. A sound abatement layer had to be installed under it because of condo covenants, which slowed drying and lightening. I have learned to check the grade of the marble before purchasing.

Backsplash has white sanded grout. What sealer brand won't darken it?

I used Miracle Sealants Grout Sealer on my white unsanded grout in the bathroom of my beach cottage. It is, I believe, the most purchased grout sealer in the US. It says it will not change the appearance of the grout, and I believe that to be true, although that wasn't my focus. It is available at the big L and HD. You can always try it in a small area, wait for it to dry, and see what you think. There is a brush tip to the bottle and application is easy, if a little tedious.

Can I put Ancona back splash on existing backsplash without glueing

I have 30 inch range and have while marble back splash. Man it is very had to keep it clean. I want to put a steel sheet to keep it clean. I bought Ancona 30X30 steel back splash. I am not sure I can install on top of it. Has anyone tried? I don't to damage the existing back splash, but just want to go over it. Has anyone tried it ? If you think it may not work and place in Ottawa,ON that will help with this ?

If it's not sealed, you can probably oil it.

Is your grout light? You might be able to use a grout colorant and darken the whole backsplash. Pictures?
