Thank you so much aries61 for posting the link. I just replied to the post with the finished kitchen. I loved it so much. My kitchen is very similar but instead of an L shape , I have a Jshape in a 14 X 10 feet kitchen. I would love something like this for my kitchen. I really like how the door has a shaker look but with an added pizzazz (I had to look up the spelling of Pizzazz as it did not seem right and I was told it could be spelled pizazz, pizzazz, or pizzaz... amazing that I always use this work in sentences but never looked up the spelling). Oh shoot - I am so sorry! We finally had some decent weather so I have been outside as much as possible and yesterday was so busy at work! Sometimes that's just what it takes - enough photos for your to confirm your heart and minds eye or give warning that maybe it's not what you want in the scheme of things after all. It is going to look sharp! We have similar schemes going on. ;) Our master is the maple sable with black glaze-you have selected a nice door choice it will pick up the glaze more. I nod to the polar white - yes I do. It looked so stark in the showroom that I didn't even bring it home (slap the forehead how dumb was that-I totally knew all about the lighting differences in spaces and how they change things, so dumb?)! Ha! It's all good, I don't dislike the soft cabinets really - just the trim. ;) I went with silas on the island because I didn't want to clash or matchy match the floor we had already selected (medium hickory) so in essence did the same as you but opposite. For posterity: Island - Hickory Silas stain with black glaze. See above comment - in the show room polar looked really white and I knew we'd likely have leathered black granite on top of them - I was worried it would look like a black/white 'period' kitchen although that's fine the house isn't period and it wasn't what I was going for. Here are my soft white with the granite:

We have maple painted white for our perimeter cabinets and maple stained espresso with a black glaze for our two islands. We went with this because the other dark stains were showing red highlights in our light. While the color looks good in our kitchen, I don't like the glaze on the cabinets. Cleaning them is difficult. Even with a damp cloth, they show streaks in certain light. And the finish on the cabinets themselves was not done well. We have the same thing on our bathroom vanity and the finish on it was poorly done as well. As for the white, it is easy to clean, but the paint finish on some of the cabinets had bubble spots. Shiloh was good about replacing them.

Aspect is their entry level cabinet. Regular Shiloh is framed and better quality than Aspect. Eclipse is frameless and also better quality than Aspect. teacher, TFL is a great price point in material in Eclipse. I have sold quite a bit of it and have it on display in my showroom. I have yet to hear about any peeling. nhb, Bayou is a great taupey warm gray stain. I've never done it with a glaze but I do have pics of a small galley kitchen I did. We did the Heritage door in a PARTIAL OVERLAY, not FULL. Countertops are Viatera Quartz, color "Aria". Belcastel hardware in aged iron by Jeffrey Alexander.
