Thanks, everybody. I'm so glad you've enjoyed the garden pictures! IÂm sorry, Adam, I havenÂt checked in here for a while and didnÂt see your post until now. IÂm glad you liked the pictures! As for your questions... The rose and deck area is in full sun. My husband built the support for the climbing Fairy rose. Yes, those are foxgloves (they grow wild, and I transplanted some to the rose bed as an experiment) and delphinium behind the chair. The blue clematis on the obelisk is H.F. Young clematis. My talented nephew built the obelisk for me a couple years ago. There is also a President clematis on the same obelisk. Yes, thatÂs The Fairy again in photo #2 hanging over the lavender. As for spraying roses, I donÂt spray any of mine, including The Fairy. She puts out beautiful glossy green leaves in the spring, then the leaves turn yellow for a couple of weeks, then the bush is covered in tiny pink blossoms the rest of the summer. The yellowing leaf cycle seems normal for her, so I don't bother trying to "fix" it. My worst roses for blackspot are the hybrid teas, so I stopped planting those a long time ago. I've been planting tomatoes in the rose bed the last few years, and it seems to help with blackspot. Last summer I had no blackspot at all, even on Blaze, which is notorious for BS. I've seen Zephy grow in semi-shady areas in other peoples gardens. She gets full sun in mine. "Very pretty rhododendrons/azaleas? #32..what exactly is this plant?" I really should label photos, shouldnÂt I? I think the one you're looking at is a cherry blossom. "#33 Not sure what this plant is either?" The yellow one is Kerria japonica. "In photo # 41 of the spring album..what is that white vine behind your chair?" I had to look for it  itÂs actually branches from the cherry tree, covered in white blossoms. It does look like a vine in the picture. "In your summer of 2004 album..in #1, what is that plant that is in the pot?" That's Osteospermum, or African daisy. ItÂs perennial in my sisterÂs yard, 30 miles from here, but I have to plant it as an annual. "In #4, that seems like a very clear view of the arbor that I assume is what the pink rose in Summer 2005 is climbing on. It seems like such a long span of horizontal without vertical support and I wondered how you did that..lol." There are three vertical supports for it, not always visible in the pictures, and the horizontal section is actually two separate pieces. It has held up very well so far. I was worried that snow would weigh it down, but it hasnÂt. "#46 looks like some kind of sedum or sempervien? It is gorgeous! So nice and dark." I donÂt have the name of that and donÂt remember planting it  it may have come attached to another plant. It has always been a mystery to me how it got there. Thanks again, everyone.

Hi all thanks for the comments, I need spring too, 7 more weeks!!!, Cait1- yes we own 2 acres behind us and then the woods go on for miles, hope no one every develops goldenpond - yes that is raggedy ann and andy on the door, no I am not a collector, hubby remodels houses and this was an kids bedroom door the new owner wanted gone and I scoffed it Crows were decoys of hubbys so I scoffed those for my "dead"(rust graveyard) garden LOL Kudzukween - the rain chimes my hubby made those, showed him a pic and thats the idea he came up with, thank you We are freezing here in southeastern New Hampshire but no snow to speak of, took a walk around the house and I am envisioning what to do 1st in spring, the garden, pathway behind the arbor

Tiffanyrose, Thank YOU! I had such a good laugh after reading your post. Because finally I realized what I've been missing out on. Like you, I'm a newbie and several of my plants have suffered. Not due to lack of love, but due to my ignorance/inexperience. Since my spruce started dying 2 weeks ago, I've been really discouraged. But hey, look, my lilacs are still (barely) alive, my grass is finally growing and my viburnums are still green. And my composting works! I really, really like your attitude. And congratulations on your lavender, pumpkin and sunflower!

First off Lynn...I hope you are okay from that 'tumble' you took. Sounds like you've bruised everything on your body that moves!! Take it slow and give all those parts time to heal. Now, I Just Love ... Love It all Lynn. Your home is just so amazing and you've done wonders with everything both inside and out. Your home has such a distinct style and flare, and it's done so perfectly. As far as your front door, as beautiful as it is..I'm with those who say, it needs color to set if off. I also think it will 'enhance' the details more. The first door color with the muted turquoise seems to be in the right direction. If you do go in that color family...it definitely should be muted. Also, I agree with painting the dining furniture to 'ground it'. I think I would choose a muted tone there as well, so it would not compete with the other colors you already have. It should be a 'backdrop' for anything that surrounds it or that you place on it. I love the garden statue. She is so peaceful looking. Once again...everything looks just lovely...I see you've been quite a busy lady and all that hard work has really paid off. Now all that's needed, is for you to enjoy it!! jane
