Comments (8)I love white shaker style cabinets, in bathrooms or kitchens or anywhere really. Picturing your bathroom as you describe it, I would probably go with exactly your original thought. When I think of the sea, I think of pale crisp colors, the blue greens and the white of the caps on the waves and maybe a sand color. While white shaker isn't perfectly "modern" in style (like a slab door might be), I do think it is contemporary and can fit in nicely with modern materials. While it is just my opinion, a dark cabinet would really draw the eye and overwhelm the soft lovely sea colors. I would stick with white or maybe a pale wood color. As to the style of the door, I think either sleek modern slab or shaker could easily fit in with a modern material like chroma. While I probably wouldn't do an ornate traditional door, shaker style or slab are both sleek and contemporary. In my opinion, your original instincts were spot on. Good luck with your choices and I look forward to seeing the finished product....See MorePlease help me pick the perfect chocolate
Comments (27)Well, after living with it for a few days, the Peppered Pecan is growing on me. It is a nice rich color. I think once I pull off all the blue tape and get everything up and installed, pictures and towels hung, etc., it will recede into the background. When you are staring at nothing but a wide expanse of wall, you notice any and every perceived flaw with the color. I absolutely love my satiny cream and cafe au lait shower curtain, though. I finally hung it last night and I don't think it would look as good up against a lighter paint color. I also love the way my pale aqua rugs and towels stand out against the color. Can't wait to find more turquoise and aqua accessories to add. I really am falling in love with aqua for some reason!...See MoreLet's talk English style cool toned Pinks! +help me choose some!
Comments (13)This is the second year for my Falstaff, and so far I'm loving it. It's not pink, but deep magenta, fading to purple (and a nice purple, not a sickly one). The flowers are durable in rain, the flowers nod, which I like (and which might help them from collecting water). So far, not much frying in the sun (although smaller flowers with the 90F heat). Biggest disappointment: almost no fragrance, but when detectable, it is old rose. First flush flowers were about 3". Flowers don't flatten out but keep this cupped form. It's starting to put out a second flush now when WS2K is busily frying its first flush in the sun and mildewing. Most remontant roses (i.e. hybrid teas) here put out a nice first flush, then a few miserable looking flowers in the heat if any, then another nice flush in the fall. Falstaff mildewed a bit this year. We don't get blackspot here. Photo bloom color is accurate. In my tough climate, it takes a while for plants to grow. Planted in the spring of last year, it did nothing the rest of the year. This year the bush is very vigorous (like climber vigorous), upright, but not stiff, and the new basals are almost as tall as the bush now. The leaves are matte and nicely formed, very old rose. Here's the first flush. I hope it gets all big and gangly....See MoreCan you post your black, rustic black or very dark gray shingle roof?
Comments (9)if you don't want it to look light, then get a darker charcoal or even black. is there a way you can grab some samples and put them up on your roof? the roofing companies should send them out to you. they did to me. This way you'll see how much lighter they look once on top. Try Boral, Eagle roofing. unless you just want plain old asphalt? I think CertainTeed is quite popular https://www.bobvila.com/slideshow/asphalt-shingles-a-showcase-of-roofing-styles-colors-and-options-1791 https://www.thespruce.com/asphalt-shingles-for-your-home-1824686 Have you considered a metal roof? https://www.westernstatesmetalroofing.com/blog/standing-seam-metal-roofing-benefits...See MoreK Free
