Less expensive chinoiserie wallpaper?
Comments (10)I have an all over chinoiserie wallpaper similar in my dining room and it is from the early 80's. I don't know who made it, it is a fabric backed solid vinyl with a slight woven texture. It still looks new. It was very expensive at the time. I think it is just a timeless look. Anyway I am sure a good shop will have something similar- not everyone can pay that much for wallpaper. And no one gets that close to mine to mine to check it out!...See MoreWallpaper removal fail. What to do if the wallpaper comes off uneven?
Comments (12)Sorry to hear about your experience. Mine is/was similar. I found several layers of wallpaper, with a skim coat in between, and then under that, it seems to have been applied directly to drywall. I have removed a lot of wallpaper in the past, but I ended up damaging the drywall in one room so badly, we decided to hire someone. I had several contractors come through who looked at the amount of wallpaper and wouldn't do it! One guy was willing and he starts this morning so I will see what magic he uses. If he has any tips, I will share....See MoreBedroom: Accent wall/paper is black and gold with dark curtains
Comments (15)I would focus on 3 colors predominantly- black for furniture and curtains (existing unless you’re looking to change window treatments too), warm gray for carpet, paint and background colors and gold for accents. I would pull the carpet color from the color of the leaves on the wall paper to tie it together. Same for paint. I’d take one of the colors you like from the paper and match it to paint. I would recommend pottery barn furniture in black - it will look much better than the mid tone gold wood pieces the previous owner had....See MoreWallpaper over mirror that’s primed?
Comments (17)Peel and stick wallpaper or window film or a board covered with fabric would be fine. Or pulling it out. It's a dopey place for a mirror, but the builtin over all is quite nice. Guess it's too late to say don't paint it. :P (Spoonflower really does have about a billion choices in peel & stick. It's quite the rabbit hole.)...See Moremtnrdredux_gw
