Whole room photo please.

Wow, super cute with that whole room photo. The color that it's painted now is perfect, in my opinion. What don't you like about the room?

Also, is the bureau/tv/chair existing bedspread yours?

Hi mimimommy, no the room is now empty. Carpet is stained and needs to be replaced, walls are scuffed and need to repaint. I can totally redo in similar way but just wondered what other options there might be with that accent wall, having so many colours in it (black, gold, silver silver, brown). My predecessor has married bedroom items with both silver and gold. I wondered about going more with the gold and what that opens up in terms of colour palettes.

What colors are you attracted to? I would do the same paint on the walls, change out the carpet for new maybe slightly darker, replace the light fixtures (they don't work for me), and then pick any color you want for the bedspread, etc. Unless you don't like carpet in bedroom... some people do, some don't. I'm not understanding what you mean that the accent wall has so many colors? It's fairly monochromatic and the shades/ drapes look like they are a good fit. Maybe some inspiration pictures? I personally would totally work with the colors that are there and put in an awesome bedspread and nice bed... seems like you don't like it though so inspiration pics will help! :)

Thanks, I like the gold more than the silver. Wondered if i could bring in blush pink on walls or creamy pink - navy bed as mentioned. too many colours i wondered because of combining any new ones with the existing ones, of which there are 4 atm, this would make it like six and and even seven with a darker carpet so i cant guage. agree on the lights. i dont have any inspirations pics :) will try and find some.

This is the rest of the room as it was...silver handles, grey doors, black and gold light fittings. im trying to work the gold more with some other accents if i can.

I would focus on 3 colors predominantly- black for furniture and curtains (existing unless you’re looking to change window treatments too), warm gray for carpet, paint and background colors and gold for accents.

I would pull the carpet color from the color of the leaves on the wall paper to tie it together. Same for paint. I’d take one of the colors you like from the paper and match it to paint.

I would recommend pottery barn furniture in black - it will look much better than the mid tone gold wood pieces the previous owner had.

founts, if you really don't like the wallpaper, why not just strip it? I wouldn't stick with any silver/gold if you really don't like it. Same with curtains/blinds. They look nice to me but maybe close up they are glitzy. For example, if they are similar to the light fixtures then, yeah, they would be going away. :)

This room doesn’t have the wallpaper or accent wall, but it has the colors and elements I’ve mentioned above.

Mimimommy i do like elements of it. i want to keep what i like about it in the rest of the room. gold accents, not silver and tone down the glitz accordingly :)

I don’t think a black bed would be too much, you could also do a charcoal color, which would look great too. It’s all about contrast in my opinion and ensuring the colors work together. Then comes layering and textures.
