Lighting Design Dilemma Kitchens

Need help coordinating kitchen island lights with kitchen nook lights.

We’re working on our kitchen renovation and need help with the pendant lights and kitchen nook lights. We are replacing the current ones. I attached a foto of the pendant lights we’d like to go with. We‘re having a hard time deciding on the kitchen nook area lights. Does is have to be bigger, smaller or same size as pendant lights? Also are these size pendant lights a good option. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks ahead.

What are the dimensions of your island and your table? I see that the height of the pendant is 15.75”. What is the diameter?

Your pendants and table lamp do not have to be the same or matchy-matchy, but they should coordinate.

You don't have to match the size of the "jars" but just the general finish and/or style. Here are a few stabs in various directions:

I am open to whatever might look good. pendant or other style. By lamp do you mean a flush mount fixture? I will try to get over there today to get a picture but it won't be that helpful as the cabinets are not due to be installed until Tuesday. This is a new build so we are not living there yet. I'd say this is "similar" layout to what I will have. White cabinets to the ceiling soapstone countertops. My island is bigger and I have can lights over the pennisula (single counertop height, not bar height like this one). There are lots of windows in the nook.

Autumn I'm going to throw another option at you because I don't think you have enough to consider yet ;-) Don't forget about vintage fixtures. Even with rewiring (if it's necessary) it's not difficult to do or expensive to hire out and you can find unique and affordable fixtures that you won't see in every other build. I know your area and there are great options for salvage and vintage lighting - you can just hop in the car and make a few excursions, right? I'm being flip - I know that's not easy with kiddos but if you and your DH can do a little scouting there are treasures available. We bought many vintage fixtures for the house we're in and are seriously considering replacing them with Home Depot-esque fixtures and bringing the vintage into a new build because they unique. As for matching metals, I wouldn't even give it a thought.

I looked, and there were only a couple of things in the same finish and they were nearly Identical. The only one I have considered so far was a drum with a few crystals, to sort of marry them together. I thought I’d try this to see if I could get another opinion before I ordered it, to see if the metals were close enough.

I never like one center light in a kitchen so IMO tha should be at least a track light if you do not wnat to go to the expense of having pot lights so look for a track with small black heads and make sure the bulbs are LED 4000K and make sure that same style head can be one light over the sink. I think DR light can be stand alone since they are the star in the DR I do however raslly dislike DR lights that light the ceiling

The Kichler pendant in the picture is 15.75" Height x 10.50" Width.

Island is 94"x 41" and ceiling height is 9 ft.

Table is 48 in. This set will be replaced as well (the idea is to get something with a combination of white and brushed nickel or stainless still but same size).

Those look great.

The island pendants and the nook light fixture are only 8 ft apart (from center to center).

I'm wondering if switching from what I have now - mini pendants, 7" x 4" - to something much bigger as these Kichler ones (mentioned above) won't look too busy when combined with the nook.

They look great but I don't mind finding something smaller if that is what it takes to bring the perfect balance.

I think a smaller piece will look more contemporary than huge hanging lights that give a classic look to the the kitchen design.
