Help! Leathered Granite nightmare!
Comments (66)This string does a good job of describing the problem which I hope people in the early stages of choosing granite will run across. Your input with this chart is new information to this string and should be considered when making that initial decision.. The rest of us who are past that point and are now trying to solve the problem will find your suggestion helpful and something else to try. Thanks for it. I found the following info about Coffee Brown online: Compressive Strength : 1920 kg/cm2 After Freezing : 1810 kg/cm2 Water Absorption: 0.15% Bulk Density: 2720 kg/m3 Hardness(Moh's Scale) : 6: It’s from India....See MoreLeathered Granite marks
Comments (5)The granite is harder than the dishes. You’re getting bits of plate ground off of your dishes. The same happens with metal marks on light surfaces. The stone is harder than the steel, so bits of steel come off and make the metal mark. Soft scrub. Maybe Barkeeper’s Friend if there’s no calcites in the stone....See MoreHelp! Comments (5)i dont' think i would do white... very difficult to get right with the cabs...if u can find the right shade and u like it, go for it... maybe a very soft shade of blue to pull in your cabs... but of course it has to be in the same tone as the cabs... a matte tile or satin - light sheen. i would not do a gloss/glass tile i hesitate to say gray b/c its been done to death.... maybe a gray/blue? i do like a 6x6 tile... just to get away from a subway... whatever u choose, have grout to match as close as u can, so the b/s just sits in the background. bring home lots a samples to see in your space with your lights and natural light....See Morecleaner for marble & leathered granite (Dolomite?)
