ut you last post is the stressed part. You or anyone can not make that assumption of who is more stressed. You do not know their life. When I had breast cancer, my garden was my outlet for stress more than any other time in my life. I wintersowed very slowly because I could hardly do it, but it gave me a sense of purpose and things to come in the spring. I dreamed through the catalogs of what to buy believing I would be there to live to see them bloom. I tended my plants best I could in spring. I'm sorry I'm getting teary eyed now. I'm sorry. I know what cancer is like. My dad had chemical based leukemia, 14% chance of survival.. he didn't. Treatment was horrible, he did a clinical trial, I have to say that what he went through in the month plus that he was doing the clinical trial, I don't know why anyone would fight that particular cancer. Back to the garden & plants. When he came out of the hospital he was greeted by plants. My hubby, son & I worked really hard to plant his vegetable garden at his new house (it closed a week after being diagnosed) plus I duplicated my gardens at his house. We'd dug up a few of his roses, plus I bought more. I even bought a daylily that was not common, which I now call Matty for him. He was speechless when he came home. We used to like to sit on his porch & watch the butterflies & hummingbirds. While he wasn't allowed near the plants due to his particular type of cancer, he could sit there and enjoy it. He wasn't allowed to eat his veggies either until he went into remission a few months later. His guardian angel gave us really warm weather until November, we were able to have his Hungarian peppers in my stuffing for Thanksgiving. Through his whole nightmare, gardening & plants brightened the time he was out of the hospital. I'm not able to buy a lot of plants any more due to my back problems. There's a reason why I haven't added many photos to helpmefind, I'm not able to walk around the garden like I used to. I do want to buy a few roses next year & will probably be buying from David Austin. Since I'll use a regular credit card, I doubt I'll have issues and so far have not had a bad experience the last time we ordered. I'd ordered a Benjamin Britten rose, it was horrible, a phone call or email with no questions asked and they replaced it.

I ordered a complete kitchen set of appliances in August, and was told it would be delivered in September. I took a picture of the delivery date for my own verification. After making numerous non ending calls, and dates being pushed and pushed, I started getting deliveries months later. My excitement was quickly squashed because everything had some kind of damage in transport from NY to CA. I was able to deal with some of the cosmetic issues because I hid them within the cabinets. On the dishwasher, I attempted to get a replacement and they refused. The dents that are clearly visible, I was so desperate to have my kitchen together that Ive just learned to learn to live with them. Then In December I finally received the wall oven that I’d been very anxiously waiting for. Because of my past experiences I immediately opened the box and saw that it looked like it had been compressed and damaged. The delivery company said to send pictures to Appliances Connection for resolution because they didn’t deal with returns. I immediately contacted Appliances Connections and the delivery head quarters. They gave me a number to call so a repair representative could come look at it. I called and made the appointment. The rep came and said it was so damaged that it wasn’t repairable and looked like it had been dropped from at least 5 feet. I sent over the report to let Appliances connection know. At this point because everything coming from New York was damaged in some form, and I had waited 5 months for the oven, I just wanted it returned and refunded. I didn’t want to wait for another damaged product. I prefer to look for an oven locally. Fast forward 2 months of my continuing to call and email, they are refusing to refund me. They have no replacement in stock and forcing me to wait until they do, so they can send another oven from New York to CA. Nothing I have received from Appliances Connection has come free of damage. Sadly had I done my research I would have seen that the items are being shipped from New York. I give a strong warning to anyone purchasing from out of New York to find a local company and to not use Appliances Connection. I’m now 6 months without a complete kitchen and no end in sight.

Momma, I wouldn't consider spending money on an extended warranty. Most extended warranties have all kinds of disclaimers and it makes it difficult to actually get the repairs made. I am an authorized service center for a major manufacturer who is truly outstanding. They offer a full year warranty (not appliances) and will always allow me to err in the favor of the consumer, including many times to repair when the product is actually out of the warranty period. OTOH, I am also a service center for an extended warranty center. I have had to go to bat for the consumer many times as the warranty center was more interested in a quick fix rather than a long lasting correction. I always refuse to do a half baked job and I have to be adamant in making the repair correctly even though it costs the warranty center more. My point with this is, not all authorized service centers will go the extra mile for the customer. The end user is truly at the mercy of the repair people to go to bat for them and many just will not spend the extra time to do this. I would squirrel away the amount that an extended warranty would cost and use this towards any repair if needed. A good local repair shop is usually more accommodating and know their business inside and out! HTH. Holly

I can also speak to how much I love Jenn-Air. I got a full kitchen suite with them delivered last month. Gas cooktop, convection wall oven, obsidian fridge, dishwasher, microwave/convection combination oven. There have been a few hiccups, bulb burnt out on microwave, ended up scratching one of the door shelves in the fridge, one of the fridge shelves was kind of screwy and mis aligned, and the outright impossible nature of trying to connect their wi-fi appliances to the app. (The Miele washer/dryer also has their own app connectivity issues BTW). That said, their customer service has more than made up for it. When I called about the shelf being screwy, they immediately ordered a replacement, then graciously sent along an extra water filter, and stainless steel wipes. I screwed up that door shelf and they still sent a replacement at no cost. That bulb being burnt out? They sent two replacements and had a technician scheduled to come out within 3 days. The wi-fi not working? They sent me a very generous gift card to say thanks and sorry for the hassle and the app developers are working on it. I really *like* the appliances I chose, but the customer service? Out of this world! Does not make me regret my decision one bit and I also really wanted a Miele kitchen suite.
